HAWAII The BIg Island

I had previously purchased a volume of the collection (Hawaii) on a trip toOahu and I liked a lot: accurate descriptions and excellent pictures, although Iseen the advertisements on the National Geographic guide! Some photos are quiteold, very 80's, but for the editor's own admission are images collectedin the time spent in the archipelago. After having visited other islandsI wanted to complete the collection and so I chose Amazon.com.Ultimately, however, are satisfied, I miss only the volume of Maui that will buy non-I will have just visited. I suggest buying at all.

Although this book is a few years old it still holds up as a beautiful and informative review of the Big Island and it's history. The pictures are amazing and the writing gives lots of interesting information about the people and places on the Big Island. I was able to get it for a great price on Amazon compared to full price in the Volcanoes National Park gift shop. Plus I didn't have to pack it in my suitcase; more room for bringing home that great Kona coffee!

We've been to the Big Island many times and this book does a great job of capturing the spirit of the Big Island. As a useful tabletop book it displays very good images of the island. We liked the imagery as it shows places that we have not yet been and leads you to want to find a way to explore more of the island.

This edition is actually nicer than the newer one. In my opinion.
