Thoroughly interesting
My maternal gt.gt grandfather was a drover in southern Scotland, thus I was rather keen to read this short book. I was hardly disappointed as it goes into some detail, also, fortunately (for me) highlighting some of the differences btween Scottish drovers and their other British counterparts. Their pay, dress and daily food are all explained and this book has added greatly to my knowledge of my ancestors. It seems these men were highly trustworthy and respected by the farmers or landowners for whom they worked.

The Drovers
Good book. Interesting picture of the past, and even provides clues as to where to metal detect. How the world has changed!

Compact and concise!
A very informative little work on the processes of English livestock movements "way back then", and the issues encountered by the drovers and their customers. And not a few quite enlightening photos and pictures.
