I love this movie, I’m glad I bought it

Though the commercials make this movie look stupid, it is defiantly not.An all-star comedy cast brings laughs from start to finish when a casino tycoon(John Cleese) gives six money crazed teams the chance to win 2 million dollars in a race from Las Vegas, Nevada to Silver City, New Mexico. Who will win this dash for the cash is anybodys guess, but one thing is for sure-It's going to be an hilarious ride.Here are the teams:Italian narcoleptic Enrico (Rowan Atkinson AKA Mr. Bean).Though at some points his italian accent becomes annoying, his acting is funny enough for you to ignore it. His modes of transportation are a train, and an organ doner truck driver(Wayne Knight)Newly aquainted Mother and daughtor team Vera and Merill Baker(Oscar winner Whoopie Goldberg and Lanai Chapman). They work magic together, their scenes are funny, and so are they.Their modes of transportation are a sports car, a rocket car, and a bus.Owen Templeton(Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a football referee who is recognized everywhere because he made the wrong call on a coin toss!!! Cuba Gooding jr. is no doubt the highlight of this movie. His modes of transportation are a taxi cab, with mad football fan cab driver Gus(Paul Rodriguez), a bus filled with Lucielle Ball impersonaters, and a horse.The cody brothers, Blaine and Duane (Seth Green, and Vince Vieluf).Their scenes are very funny. Vince Vieluf's character is histerical because he bought a home tounge piercing kit. He pinches a nerve in his tounge, and now has a speech impetiment. Their modes of transportation are a convertible,and a hot air baloon.The Pear family, led by Randy and Bev(Jon Lovits, and Kathy Najimy). Hands down, the funniest scene in this movie is the scene with the Pear family at the world war two veterans reunion.Their modes of transportation are a van, Adolf Hitler's Meredes Benz, and a truck.The final team is Nick Schaeffer and Tracy Faucet(Brecken Meyer and Amy Smart). In my opinion, these are the worst scenes in the movie. They are not bad scenes, they just dont live up to the standard of the others. Their modes of transportation are a helicopter, and a pick up truck.Along the way, they meet some interesting characters. Merill and Vera baker meet an insane squirrel lady(Oscar winner Kathy Bates) who gives them some bad directions. Blaine and Duane cody meet a girl who has lots of piercings(Silas Weir Mitchell). Owen Templeton meets many Lucy Ball impersonaters including Charlottte Zucker."Rat Race" is not going to win any awards, but it is a fun time. If you have nothing to do, invite some friends over, order a pizza, and rent "Rat Race"."Rat Race" is rated PG-13 for Sexual Referances, Crude Humor, Partial Nudity, and Language. The nudity is not that bad, so dont worry about the tounger kids.If you have a DVD player, i strongly suggest that you watch the special features. They include english subtitles, interactive menus, scene selections, the theatrical trailer, an interview with Director Jerry Zucker and writer Andy Breckman, 7 deleted scenes, half hour special:The Making of Rat Race, Gag reel, outtake scene, and a new feature "Jerry Zucker and Andy Breckman call the actors""Rat Race" is a great movie, go see it!!!!

We couldn't stop laughing..

I really love this movie. The first time I watched it, I almost burst from laughter at some point. And I still laugh hard when I re-watch it. That's something very unique and precious. Very few comedies can illicit the same response over and over.The cast of this movie is SUPERB. Lots of excellent actors, known and otherwise, who give a top notch performance and work great as an ensemble.I think the secret of this movie lies in its pacing. A comically nonsensical plot that consists of situational skits that are woven into a string of intertwined coincidences and well-used character twists - all contribute to a steadily increasing pace of comedic excellence, culminating in brilliant climax at the Barbie museum (I'm cracking up just writing this)... lol... Just go watch it. If you don't die laughing... no.. just don't eat too much before you watch it.

This is one of the funniest movies ive ever seen!

It is an older movie and some might find parts of it offensive but for the era it was made in it was acceptable.If you want a blast into the past or see what comedy used to be this is onebto watch.

Ok I have seen this movie a few times on TV and to me its the most hilarious comedy since Dumb and Dumber(yes it was THAT funny). The film is about a group of people who receive golden tokens that has to do with winning alot of money which is in a locker in New Mexico. So Brecklyn Meyer,Amy Smart,Jon Lovitz,Rowan Atkinson,Whoopi Goldberg and a few more interesting charcthers have to travel on a goose chase to get the money in New Mexico,with hilarious results. One of the most iconic lines is Rowan Atkinson putting on a hilarious Italian accent saying "Its a race I hope I win",and he comes across Wayne Knight who is a medical guy who has to deliver a heart for a patient who needs a heart transplant,but when he Atkinson's charcther loses the heart,Knight's charcther wants his heart. That scene alone was hilarious. So yeah if you love alot of madcap comedies like Dumb & Dumber than this is for you.Overall I highly recommend you buy it on DVD. I haven't seen it yet on DVD since i got it but I will be watching it soon.

It made me laugh and the characters were hilarious. Rather than dwell on the awful news sometimes laughter is a panacea to relieve depression and isolation. I am very pleased with my purchase and will continue to watch this video when I am feeling down.

A movie which brings to mind another great favourite of mine, "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World". Inevitably, it's less charming than the 1963 film, but actually so funny in places that I don't hold that against it. I just love the scene where you have dozens of hysterical/crying Lucille Ball lookalikes - I laughed so much it really hurt! The only part I think could have been done better is the ending which, once the point has been made, begins to outstay it's welcome. Still, It's a small price to pay for a film which takes you away from a sometimes grim reality......

with a line light of jokes and hilarious characters in this movie it will make you laugh for ages. Looking for a random movie to watch on my movie night at home with my wife and kids I came across this it seemed a bit childish so I got it for the kids but when I watched it I saw that there were jokes in there fi for adults too and was laughing my head off. With people like John Cleese and Seth Green in it there characters will make you laugh.
