Excellent quality pan...but what were they thinking when they designed the handle.
An excellent versatile pan with great heat distribution and easy to clean. It's taken a few uses to get familiar with the taller sided pan as I am in the habit of using my fingers to turn items being cooked...wrists are not heat resistant! It is not a non stick pan but with correct heat and oil it is possible to cook anything from a fried egg to risotto to sauces which you cannot do with a cast iron pan unless you want to re-season it after every use. It does not hold the heat the way a thick cast iron pan does which in balance I would list as a positive. As some reviewers have commented the handle is quite frankly peculiar. It is possible to find comfortable purchase to lift the pan but if any attempt to tip the contents from the pan are made the 2 upper edges of the handle become quite uncomfortable in the hand. Actually the handle is more comfortable to hold when the pan is upturned but that sort of makes it impractical to use! I have got in the habit of wrapping a chefs cloth around the handle to counter the discomfort (and probably wise as it is a steel handle and sometimes has just been in the oven... it is a lesson I have previously only needed to learn once to remember). Also the pan exterior quickly developed a golden bronze hue to it which is quite eye pleasing.10/06/24After many months of regular use I have amended my review to the full five stars. The initial discomfort has abated as I have grown accustom to the handle. In fact I like this pan so much I also purchased the 20cm pan.

Best of British.
Amazing pan. Does everything. Great heat spread. Fantastic for curries. No worries of the food spilling over the sides. Very well made. Will last a lifetime.

My new favourite
I've been after this pan for a long time. It certainly did not disappoint. Its a beautiful good sturdy pan that isn't too heavy and the curvature around the base is ideal for stopping sauces from catching in the sides. It's great for frying meat and fish. I've literally been using it for nearly everything. It's handle is a comfortable grip (even for my small hands), and it's so easy to clean. It arrived on time and in good protective packaging. Would definitely recommend

Beautiful pan, perfectly constructed... but the handle??
I'm nearly in love with this pan. The construction is perfect, feels solid, thick enough to hold and distribute heat but not so much that it doesnt allow for quick temp reduction. The high sides are my preference for an all rounder because I can make sauces, pastas, soups, steaks, anything. It's a beautiful pan.BUT...What is with the handle?! It's fine for carrying the thing around, but when you want to toss the food and throw it around a bit, the handle makes it a bit tough going. I throw my food around with a forward toss and, when I need to ensure everything is turned and mixed while cooking, add some side to side action. For simple front flip action, I'd score it a 7/10. The handle's not too wide so I don't have total control. The thumb groove helps but it's not entirely comfortable because the sharp-ish sides start to dig in. It's when you add the side to side action that things start to go awry (5/10). The handle's thin width means I can't handle it with much precision, and the sharp edges really start to cut in, especially if I've got a decent amount of food in the pan.I imagine my hands will eventually mold to the handle and I, like many other reviewers, will revisit and up the review to a 5*, but for now, I kinda wish I'd gone with an All Clad or Viking.Update: I've found a solution - I threw the plastic handle sleeve from one of my carbon steel frying pans and it works a charm. Just slip it on when using it on the stovetop, pull it off when I use it in the oven. Simples... but should I have to come up with my own solution for a pan at this price point?Note to Samuel Grove: perhaps offer your own plastic sleeve as a solution?

So far excellent
Delivered in nice box (kept!). Sturdy pan. Excellent quality feel. Given pans seem to go to pan heaven I do not know what to expect in way of life expectancy. But it feels good and a deliberate choice away from non-stick which peel and must ingest. It (instructions?) also made me change to mid/low gas heat, to avoid burning food and so saves gas also (3 layer metal etc). Cooking well and comes up good after a clean. No more non-stick for me.

Good and lifelong pan
I have no complaint so here's my tips to keep it fresh:Submerge in near boiling water and scrub away the residue with a stainless steel scourer if you messed up.Wipe with vinegar soaked towel if scale build up.To remove terrible oil burn - heat up the pan and apply baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) - then scrub hard with a hot sponge.

Having used this pan for many months now I can confirm it has proven high quality, with great heat distribution.Used for currys, chilli, and mussels, etc.It cleans very easily and still looks like new.Would recommend without hesitation
