My husband purchased this hammock stand for me in November, it is now February and the wood is already splitting and I haven't used it but twice! This is an outside item and should be durable to withstand the elements. It's slipping near the hammock hold hook and the support tiers are both split, dint feel comfortable using it now.

This is truly a beautiful work of art and looks terrific once built. I do see some tough reviews and heres my take on my whole experience and what I've learned from other peoples reviews.1. The packaging is not very good, but it does arrive unharmed with all the necessary pieces. (At least mine did)2. The direction are horrible. Its a 1 pager where the diagram looks nothing like the unit so I had to reference the picture here on Amazon to articulate what I needed to do. The good news is that its not difficult to assemble. (You will need some help because the pieces are a bit heavy and awkward)3. I went to home depot and bought a can of good quality clear wood sealer. This will protect the wood from sun, rain, weather etc....I can see how it could eventually break down just like any other piece of wood out in the elements, but if you treat it, it should certainly last a lot longer. Time will tell. (Oh and I do plan to tarp it tightly in the winter.)4. Once its all set up, its very sturdy and looks amazing! I had one of those cheap metal things which worked (well let me not call it cheap), but this is a piece of art and makes the yard look really good!I fully recommend it, but you have to seal it and be a little bit handy to put it together. My daughter and I put it together in about 40 minutes.Good Luck!

It took my son and I just about an hour to assemble the hammock stand in the garage. The item is very sturdy, and at first we had an issue sliding the large bolts through, but then we loosened up all the other bolts to give us some wiggle room, then everything was much easier to match up. I would definitely recommend this hammock stand for anyone looking to purchase one.

Easy assembly, nice quality.

I would give this 4.5 stars 🌟 except there is no option for that. The only thing I hate about it is the actual hammock is mildewing easily. I do live in NC and I don't leave the hammock out in the rain but even with dew and humidity it starts getting mildew and gross. Otherwise it is extremely comfortable and beautiful and sturdy and I love everything else about it.

This hammock and stand has been great. After three years on the patio, the wood has weathered. what is the best treatment to apply to the wood?

I'm sure this review isn't against the seller persay...its about the manufacturer. I purchased this and received a board that was noticeably splitting. Contacted the seller they got me a new piece right away and even contacted me to make sure the piece was correct! They sent it out no worries! Fantastic job....the problem is that almost every other piece had smaller splits that I didn't realize until I started putting it together. I don't have the energy to keep complaining and I just know its the manufacturer or its been sitting on a shelf for lord knows how long...prolly get a year out of it.....its a nice setup if it only didn't split in several pieces.....again no fault on seller....its the manufacturer.

I love the style of the stand, but the hammock is disgusting and needs to be replaced after a couple of months under a covered patio. There doesn't seem to be any sort of outdoor finish on the hammock, and it is all mildewed and dirty.
