not thick
its soft and comfortable, but not enough padding on the bottom. if an animal were to jump on it from a tall height (a couch etc) like my cat will, they'll hit the ground as there is no real cushioning. but, it is otherwise soft, relatively easy to vacuum, and not a bad size.

For a small to medium sized dog
Very soft and durable bed. A bit small... definelty for a small to medium sized dog... under 30 lbs... although my 45 lbd Border Colie squeezes into (or should I say on top of) it.
