Maybe I got lucky, the set came in perfect shape. I'm a little older and remember these kind of weights when I was a kid so I took a chance and purchased. I am glad I did. Nice little set that will work for me. All pieces are there and assembled with no problems.

I bought this weight set a couple of months ago and I am thoroughly satisfied with them. They are incredibly simple to assemble and use. There is nothing much to say, they are weight sets and they do the job perfectly fine. The only drawbacks I may have is that the plates are pretty big so it may be uncomfortable to workout with at first but it is nothing that can really hinder the workouts. Along with that, the plates are full of sand so if you buy this set you will have to be somewhat careful with how you handle these weights in order to keep the sand leakage to a minimal. That being said you don't have to handle the weights like a baby but just be considerate as being rough may cause some sand to leak out. Overall this set is amazing for the price and gets the job done. I would recommend these for any home gyms that are looking for a cheap affordable option. I will continue to use these and workout with them.

I love these plates because I the vinyl material is soft to the touch making them easier to move from place to place especially on carpet surfaces. I will definitely continue to buy other sets in the future. Right now waiting on a back order to come in for a 25lb set.

Like the other reviews, you might run into sand leakage (which I did, but you can easily fix it with some tape/seal. Product came very dusty when I took it out the box as well. Bar is very grippy and I recommend gloves for a comfortable experience. Outside of that, adjusting the weight is easy and you can get a good workout in with some compromise.

I bought these weights on Prime day and I am so happy I did! They came super fast, they were packaged with extreme care, they had reinforced duck tape all around the box and plastic bands to hold. Each weight and bar were wrapped well there was very very slight sand in the bags with the weights nothing you can’t dust off. I love the ribbed handles on the bars, the coating and vinyl is completely in tact there are no holes leaking any sand. They are nice black and sleek. And very durable for what I was expecting with the sand and vinyl. I am completely satisfied with this product and by far my favorite part is that you can mix and match weights to your liking anywhere from 5-40 lbs on each bar. Totally worth the price!

These weights are cool ,great balance, heavyweight,but not to heavy with exercise. I give them and A they are cool. I think you will like them

Maybe I should feel a bit fortunate that my set came intact. No cracks in anything, no sand everywhere, all good. I did notice a minute bit of fine dust/dirt/sand on the weights themselves. I simply took a wet cloth and wiped everything down. Didn't really need to, but I'm like that. Here's the thing -- you absolutely cannot beat the price. And assuming you get everything as it should be, there is very little to complain about. The grip feels good, not too spiky or uncomfortable. The only real issues I have are one of the screws is hard to screw on at first but once it gets a quarter inch or so in it spins easily. The other quibble is that the screws can come a bit loose with use. For that, I simply cinch them down again and continue working out. All in all, this is a solid, inexpensive set of weights.

These weights are good for someone who needs to lift a small to medium amount of weight. Just a heads up: if you have connective tissue problems, or if your muscle and body fat % are really low like mine, I would advise not attaching higher weights until you've been working a set for a few weeks at least, if not several weeks. I'll just give you an example for those people who have trouble imagining this. Take me: I'm 5'10 and my BMI is 21.7. My girlfriend recently informed me that a man with a BMI of 21.7 is closer to a Japanese woman in BMI averages (she's from Japan). Now granted these stats are 2-6 years old but that's not vastly different from current averages. Anyway, in comparison, my gf has a BMI of 20.7-20.8. The thing is, she has more muscle mass % in her smaller body than I do. She used to be a BMI of less than 19 (I've been there too at some points of my life) but most of her weight gain from workouts was muscle, whereas when I do workouts these days, I actually burn muscle from overdoing it. Then I lift the weights an hour or two later and I strain my entire upper body. And that was with just 20 lbs in each arm. In comparison, my gf's muscle gain would be like Megan Fox before and after shooting Transformers. If nobody was "looking" (sorry Michael Bay) between some Megan Fox movie before Transformers and that one, you may not have even noticed that her body shape changed somewhat. It was subtle, but a couple fanboys I know in my circle pointed it out right away. One of them was kinda shocked, although a small amount of muscle on attractive women isn't exactly some new thing. It wasn't even new in 2007. Girls in my high school were like that in the earlier 2000s. Come on people. I haven't used these things in a whole week, right now lifting a water jug feels too heavy. And my gf kinda warned me about it so I guess this is what happens when couples don't listen to each other. For people with slender arms/upper bodies, try just 5 lbs first. Then attach all four 2.5 lbs weights to one dumbbell bar and work that. Then and only then, I would advise attaching the two 7.5 lbs weights. For what's it's worth even 15 lbs hurts me now. Try not to get injured by keeping good form and stepping down the weights a bit. Over-lifting does not usually come with gains. "No pain, no gain" doesn't make any sense in this scenario. I only got a small injury, it can get much worse if you don't think ahead.
