Must try, Just read directions and take extra step to rub in! WORTH IT!
I initially bought this product in a local health store. The owner recommended to me while I was staring at the shelves. She said she's tried many over the years and this was by far her favorite, the only that ever stopped odor. I had been using Tom's of Maine for a while which they did not carry. So I bought the Yaya. The other other selling point is that it was locally made in Vermont. What gave me pause was the price...almost $10. Anyway, she should have warned me that this deodorant does not apply like any I've ever used. It is granular when first applied and looks chalky. HOWEVER, i just easily and quickly rub in and it then disappears. It does not mark clothing. It works crazy good. Not only no odor but huge impact on perspiration which I have not gotten from other natural deodorants. I was annoyed for the first several days with having to rub in. BUT it does say in the directions to apply slowly to allow for your body heat to warm. Regardless, I just bought another this time on Amazon for my sister. Gave it 4 stars just because you do have to rub it in. BUT, highly effective with nice unobtrusive smell. Definitely plan on future use.

It's just okay
I was torn between three stars and three and a half, which I can not give due to this rating system. The deodorant smells awesome, so that's a plus. With my personal deodorant needs, it is only "okay". Personally, (and everyone is different), I need a deodorant that controls BOTH wetness and odor. I know, sucks right? Anyway, this is just "okay" at doing both for me. I don't sweat like a running faucet or anything, but I do sometimes sweat enough to have the dreaded wet pits on a shirt. This deodorant doesn't feel like it's going on very well. It seems kind of waxy, and glides on in little lumps and clumps, not smooth. The smell of the deodorant after putting it on is mild and subtle, which is fine. But shortly after, I can notice a small hint of sweat odor shining through the smell of mint. And as I type right now, my armpits are feeling kind of wet, definitely not dry. I do like this because it is healthier than deodorant with a bunch of chemicals (I'm not a stranger to swollen lymph nodes in the armpit area) and they hurt. I'm hoping this eliminates that issue. But I just wished it offered more wetness and odor protection.

Will buy this again!
This really works, have not used in the height of summer yet, but hung out all afternoon they did some dancing and sweated and came home, my shirt smelled like i could wear it again. Washed because of sweat but no smell. Not sure why but i got a bit of irritation small red bumps but didnt feel any thing. This seems to happen to me with almost all, gets irritated then goes away for a while. I can live with it. Other than that its great soft, just give a few minutes to dissolve so no marks on the clothes. This smells the best of all, i have tried about 8 different ones, so i know.Months later, this continues to be my favorite of all the natural deodorants, its soft, and if you wait for it to absorb there will be no marks on your clothes. I am one who does get irritated sometimes, the Bentonite clay is very good as is using Braggs apple cider vinegar as an astringent under the pits, I use for my face and decided to try on my arm pits and is working to balance the skin's PH and so far has kept the irritation at bay.

Like the product but its not for me.
I never thought that I would find the deodorant that would help me fight the bad odor. The only regular antiperspirant that works for me it's Gillette gel for man but I wanted something more natural so I gave Yaya a try. I went through the detox process and the product seemed to work, I was sweating and I wasn't stinking BUT! .... my arm pits started darkening. No idea why and sometimes they would even burn just a tiny bit. I gave this deodorant 3 tries, so I wore for several months before giving a review. I don't think this is for me, I don't want to have this situation with my arm pits. I've tried SEVERAL natural deodorants and nothing seems to work. They all seem to have the same effect on me, actually, it seems like on most people. Too bad because it did work.

Pleasant Surprise! Also Helped with Razor Bumps
This deodorant is awesome! I've used so many different deodorants/anti perspirants throughout my life (Ban, Dove, Secret... clinical strength, you name it) and they work at first, but after a while (not even a full stick) I find myself sweating tons and smelling bad. I thought there was something wrong with me! My mom and sister have switched to natural deodorants, and I kept telling them there was no way some eco-friendly deodorant would work if the highest level of chemical-bomb anti perspirant didn't work for me. Anyway, after nothing working and my mom and sister telling me how much I was poisoning my pits, I decided to try going natural. So glad I did! It was a bit weird getting used to the thickness, but if you apply slowly as directed, it melts on your body. The lavender mint smell is light and refreshing, even for someone who doesn't really like lavender or mint smells by themselves. I've gone through a few sticks of this (my one complaint is that the size is so small, I'm ordering a new one every few weeks) and it still works great! Another added perk is after a few weeks the unsightly razor bumps and ingrown hairs I've been living with for years on my armpits are completely gone! After a few weeks of using this, I noticed my pits were slightly darker and a little crusty, so I exfoliated (probably a bit too roughly) and the skin under was raw and sensitive. I thought I was having a bad reaction, but a few days later I noticed my armpits were completely smooth and my normal skin color. My pits must have had years and years of built up skin and scarring for shaving that this deodorant was somehow able to get rid of! I haven't had that weird darkness or crustiness since (I would recommend exfoliating every week or so, though).Bottom line, if you want to try natural deodorants but sweat and smell a lot, this should work great. Also if you struggle with redness and bumps from shaving, this can help with that too! Just be aware that you will most likely go through this faster than regular deodorant, so it's a bit of an investment. Totally worth it for me though! Never switching back to the main commercial brands!
