The Hat needs to be soaked to work right
Don't make the mistake I did. When the hat first arrived and I put it on my head, it was very tight. And I had ordered the L/XL size. So what is wrong. Then, as I thought about it. I realized the hat needed to be immersed in water. Once I did that, the band, which is tight when dry, is expandable and the hat fit perfectly, plus wearing it when wet made my head a lot cooler. I love the color and style of this hat and now that I know how to wear it, it is really pefect!

Cool headgear
This is a nice ranger style floppy hat. bright colors, reflective trim, nice ventilation and all.Inside the hat, the sweatband is absorbent material, which you soak with cold water, and it keeps your noggin cool for hours.I have a oversized heat at 7 5/8, and it fits OK.

Nice hat. Highly visible. Water repellent.
Only con I've discovered is that the brim could use a black material on the underside of the brim to cut out glare from sun. The sun comes through the brim and literally glows... I have a khaki bucket hat that has a black under brim and there is no glare at all. Overall this is not a bad hat for the price. I walk in National parks and some of it is side of the roadways, but I also walk at night as it is more convenient for my work schedule. So reflective gear helps me be seen both day and night. Makes my gf worry less.

Label Says Large/X-Large, Hat is Actually a Small
I ordered 2 of these hats...one in orange, one in safety lime-green. Both were ordered in size Large/Extra Large. The orange one is perfect and rates 5 stars. The lime-green one has a label in it that clearly shows Large/Extra Large, but is actually a Small. It was too small even for my grandson (age 15). Obviously no quality control at the factory - just sew any label into it. Not worth the time and effort to box it up and send it back. Into the trash it goes.

Hatband/cooling towel should be removable
The hat is good quality and well made. It's heavy duty enough for the jobsite and not just puttering around the yard. The built in "cooling towel" seems to work but has drawbacks. The first time I put the hat on I was confused because it was so small. No way the hat was an XL. I soon realized that the stiff, blue hatband was actually the "cooling towel" and despite the picture above showing it folded up inside the hat, it is supposed to be folded down and worn over my forehead OUTSIDE the hat. Ok, now it fits. But this leads me to my biggest complaint about the hat--you must soak it in water EVERY TIME you wear it, even in cooler temperatures when you don't necessarily need the cooling towel function. It's not removable, you can't fold it up out of the way inside the hat because it makes the hat WAY too small, and you can't wear it dry because the towel is stiff, abrasive and cardboard-like until it's wet making it way to uncomfortable. On the positive side, the cooling band seems to do its job.. I don't perspire as much although it doesn't feel cold or cool against my skin. This hat would be 5 stars if the hatband/cooling towel were either removable or a separate piece OR if I wanted to cooling towel function every time I wore the hat.

Great Hat
Great hat. Cool. Blocks out harmful rays. I can see my husband in the corn patch.

Very cool!
I was skeptical at first but for less than $20 I decided to give it a try. I ordered the extra large. My fat head measures 23.5". It for perfectly when wet. Dry is uncomfortable because the absorbent head band is very stiff.I do a lot of hiking in the summer near Palm Springs CA. I have to admit it works pretty well. Almost uncomfortably cold at times. I rewet it about every hour. It would probably dry out in 2h here on the dry desert.Only two objections I have is the hat brim, or the flappy sunshade could be a little stiffer. Flaps in a moderate breeze. The 2nd is the color. In the sun it is a blindingly bright iridescent yellow-green. I mean it hurts the eyes to look at it. It's fine for safety I suppose. If you're lost in the desert they'll see you 2 miles away. The color might have more to do with heat reflection. A bright white might be better.
