A Modern Classic
I bought my knife here in Montana (not on Amazon), but mine is great! Sharp, balanced, beautiful retro design, snaps open and locks securely..The only thing that wants improvement is the leather slip stitching, which is a little sloppy on the backside. I already own some real beasts, but this one is a genuine beauty. A true gentleman’s knife.

Not worth a small fraction of it's cost
This thing is like lame-o. For this price, ($187 + tax in Q4 2021), it should be a beautiful artifact. But this knife is like...uh...lame.It is about the size of the 318 proper but lacks an sense of quality or utility. Compared to the 318, it feels like a cheap toy. The flipper action it "...meh...", the liner lock is "...meh..", the hand feel is like "dude, I just got ripped off." The "tanto" point is rounded and ground so poorly that it looks homemade. No clip, no lanyard hole (do you want to see $200 vanish?). In my opinion, this knife it totally pointless while feeling, sounding, and looking cheap. If you are looking for a good, small knife the 318 Proper is great. It at least gives the impression it is worth its price. Its is expensive for what it is but it feels like something special.

You won’t feel that comfortable holding it
I drilled out a few small circles just to give a little grip. It worked perfectly and is completely usable now but seriously the knife was not at all useful until doing that. Love Benchmade but this is only a nice product with modification.

Got two of these, had three problems
First one Benchmade basically forgot to grind one side of the tip of the blade. Like it had a chisel grind on the end, it was awful. Second one was not as bad but still unacceptable for a $200 knife, honestly worse than any knife I've ever seen at any price. Add to that the liner lock, even when fully engaged, would fail easily. It would lock up but then if you tapped the back of the blade on a table it would snap closed. Glad I figured that out the easy way before it took off a finger. Why Benchmade is charging so much for a knife this poorly made is baffling.
