It looks a lot like Marmite and has a consistency like chocolate spread. But the flavour is rich, fruity, and sweet. You can taste the pear and the apple, which is hard to describe but it has a slightly tart and baked flavour as opposed to being a fresh fruit flavour. There's no mistaking the fruits in the spread though; whereas some dried/baked fruit products such as fruit leathers and strips tend to lose some of the fruits characteristic flavours, this spread preserves that apply/peary flavour.Both of my children absolutely adore this spread on toast. It's also fabulous dolloped onto ice-cream.
