He is the head of the Irish mafia, but to her he is her savior …
Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy adult intimate scenes with some BDSM elements of dominance / submission, restraints, sensory deprivation, and spanking, and violence such as kidnapping / abduction, assault, robbery, assassination, betrayal, subterfuge, murder, etc. For the most part, what you would expect from a story in the mafia genre. There are a few grammatical issues, which I mention because they disrupt the movie playing in my mind as I read. There wasn’t anything that was too difficult to interpret, mainly incorrect tenses and duplicated words. The storyline / plot is strong and involves alpha males in the Irish mafia. The characters are well defined and dynamic. There is action, intrigue, and romance with strong chemistry.Truvy, aka Tru, is a waitress in a small diner. She is in Boston attending law school and she is close to finishing. Then almost a year ago he started coming in; tall, dark, handsome, and introspective and Tru is fascinated. Unfortunately she is half way tongue tied around him and doesn’t even know his name! He comes in for a coffee and just watches her, refuses to sit in anyone else’s section and will leave if he comes in and she is not working. Then one night she gets a little more nerve and tries to initiate some conversation, but it doesn’t really go anywhere. She is afraid that she will never see him again and he draws her like no one ever has before. After he leaves, Tru takes out the trash in the alley. The alley is a mess. Normally it is taken care of by the dishwasher, but the last one quit and her boss hasn’t hired a replacement yet. So she starts cleaning it up.Tru feels an arm go around her neck and something sharp against her neck. The man and his two friends inform her that she is going to take them into the restaurant, open the safe and the cash register. If she does what they say then she won’t get hurt. Tru grew up in Texas with 7 siblings and she starts fighting back, first biting his arm where she can reach it, kicking, elbowing, etc. With his superior strength and his two friends, Tru doesn’t stand a chance and before long she has been thrown on the ground, hit in the face, and kicked in the ribs and stomach. She still doesn’t give up and throat punches the aggressor and then curls up into a ball as they attack her. Then before she realizes it, they are not touching her anymore and are on the ground, not breathing and as she looks up it is him …

Wow wow
If you like overbearing bossy mafia men then this is the book for you. I loved that aspect. J.T. always has deep plot lines, so that dis not disappoint.Tru waa a little annoying at times. That was the only thing I disliked. For someone so hell bent on wanting answers, so often she folded. And the way she treated her friend for trying to protect her was kind of messed up. She said he was attractive and then got all weird like he was being too pushy when he was trying to keep her safe. He wasn't even being a creep. It made her seem wishy washy and just contrary for the sake of being a brat.Other than that minor character flaw, I loved the story. It was interesting and infuriating at times. There was depth to the characters. Oh and it was hot! That's it. Go read it. I'm on to the next one in the series

Absolutely LOVED this
Holy CHEMISTRY - this couple has it from the very first page! I still cannot believe how quickly I devoured this intense, sexy, guilty pleasure of a read - the connection between the characters was there from the very beginning, and I just settled back and enjoyed the unpredictable ride. It’s banter-filled and sexy with combustible chemistry. JT Geissinger writes in a variety of genres so I was not really sure what to expect from this until I realized who the star is (this stands completely on its own, but if you’ve read her Dangerous Beauty trilogy, you’re in for a treat - and will probably handle all of the revelations better). It kept me guessing with twists, turns, and a couple who heat up the pages. This antihero is a big bad wolf of a man; the kind of guy you know is bad but want anyway. Our heroine makes his perfect complement - strong and fiery, constantly pushing back and demanding more. It made for quite the combination and a read that I couldn't put down. The story follows Tru, a law student who works at a diner to pay the bills. For the last eleven months, a mysterious stranger has been frequenting the diner, and she's not quite sure what to make of him. He's clearly trouble, but the kind that she might be okay with. It's not until Tru finds herself in a bad situation that the sexy stranger starts revealing more about his life - and it's more complicated than Tru could've ever bargained for. But now that he has Tru in his sights, he's not stopping until he gets what he wants.Every time I thought I knew where the story was going, it took a different direction - and I loved that. I was kept in a constant state of tension, which paired perfectly with all of the sizzling chemistry these two characters have. It's intense and engrossing with a dark humor that just really works for the story. I thought this might get too dark for me - it is a mafia romance after all - but all I felt for our hero was love. Geissinger wrote the perfect heroine for this; had Tru not been such a strong, smart woman, it could've easily headed in the wrong direction, but she didn't let this alpha hero walk all over her. They have such great banter and a connection that’s so obvious that it makes the reader want to keep reading. It's the kind of book that keeps you thinking about the characters long after you finish turning the pages, and what a steamy, wild ride it was. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC via Social Butterfly PR (then purchased it for my collection) and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy, suspenseful book.

I LOVED LIAM
Tru is a waitress going to college to become a lawyer. She finally has the guts to have a conversation with tall, dark and handsome who has been sitting in her section drinking coffee for 11 months. After she gets attacked he saves her and she finds out that he is a lot more dangerous than she initially thought.I loved this book. It was funny, the chemistry between the characters was perfect and the story flowed really smoothly. I loved Liam. He just kept getting better and better and I loved how sassy Tru was and how she made him feel.

A refreshing good read
Loved how this played out. Perhaps there could be a bonus sequel of a holiday family gathering... One could only dream. Anyways, this was a great read & I enjoyed getting lost in its digital pages.

So damn funny

A fantastical twisty plot!
The MFC Truvy is feisty hilarious and relatable! Throw is a dark mystery man and seems like a well worn plot of the ages... but not this book! nothing ho-hum about these characters, their journey together, or their endings. A well written, steamy, amusing, dramatic story about people their heartaches and the inevitability of life love and death. Highly recommended!! I'm off to find and read another book by this amazing author.

Great book
I am soooo in love with this book. I read it twice, because it was so good written. The plot, the character, the tension between the main characters, all this has made this book to my absolute favorite.I should say it is nice to read a book where the female character is not a naive little girl, but a strong and independent woman who is not afraid of the male character and do not live to fulfill his every wish. It is also nice to read about the male character like Liam, very charismatic, powerful and who can still be a putty. I usually don't like books where women are treated as things and the men's greatest wish is to own her and make her submit, so it was good to find out how honorable Liam is.I can only advise you to read the book, it is so so great!
