Fun little rod, great for exploring.
Great value for the money, but I have mixed feelings about this rod. The triple zoom is an interesting feature but I wish I felt more secure when using it in the 2 shorter lengths. When shortening it to the shortest length it has a tendency to build pressure and pop back out. The adjustable length is useful, and it's surprising how it was actually useful to fully extend it in areas that I would have thought a shorter rod would be better. Sometimes the longer lengths allow a very gentle presentation that requires less overhead space. The triple zoom definitely comes at a price, it feels very heavy in the hand, which is to be expected from such a substantial rod. The balance is pretty nice when in the 10'8, but it becomes drastically less balanced and then uncomfortable to use at the 12'9 length. It is easier to cast light line using a 6:4 action rod, but the stiffer action of this rod made lifting small fish from steep areas much easier. It's definitely not as elegant as a single length rod, but the adjustable length has its advantages. I don't think I'd pay much more for a "triple zoom" rod, but if the idea interests you, it's worth the money. I really like the rotating tip, that's a very nice feature. Compared to aventic's nano series, this rod has a number of premium features, but is heavier, less balanced and more difficult to cast. Aventic also provides a spare t1 and t2 parts, which I was pleased to see were offered for separate purchase for this rod, however I noticed these are no longer listed. Will these be for sale again in the future if I need spare sections? Lastly I noticed a small scratch in the 2cnd section after the one labelled 10'8 right out of the box. It's probably superficial, but it's a little disheartening. Lastly, I recently acquired an ESZ tenkara rod, a local high end manufacturer. It has two lengths which I prefer to three. The difference in quality is unbelievable. The maximumcatch rods are great entry level rods, but there are rods out there that are more expensive, which truly feel way better when casting and handling fish. It may not seem much but an imbalanced rod feels much heavier than it is, and will leave you fatigued.

LOVE IT!!!
It is so EASY for a fly fishing beginner like me to cast the light dry flys. No roll casting, no tuck cast, no double haul, simply swing the rod gently and the line will go everywhere you wish. Super recommended!!!

Super fun rod
This is my first tenkara rod, I have been interested for a while and decided to give it a shot. One week later I’ve caught 20-25 fish on it and have to say it’s pretty fun. There’s a lot of newness to the fishing style, but I’m enjoying it quite a lot. As far as quality, it seems to be a good buy. Next time I’ll go with a more expensive/higher quality rod, but I do not regret giving this a try. I’ve had my wife, dad, brother, and friend all give it a try, and they agree that it’s a pretty fun fishing style.

I superb first tenkara rod
This rod is my first Tenkara rod, though I've been fly fishing for a couple decades. After quite a bit of use, I have to say that you cant do much better for a first rod, or maybe just overall. I wanted to try tenkara but I certainly wasn't ready to jump into $250 rod that I had no frame of reference for.The rod is versatile and effective. I've caught fish in the 3-4 lb range with relative ease after some research into tenkara fishing techniques. Tenkara technique research will make this rod work ten times better for you.At one point, I did manage to snap the relatively delicate tip of this rod while trying to collapse it. When I emailed the company, they immediately sent me a replacement, and it wasn't long before I was operational again. The customer service was great.I really don't have anything negative to say about this rod, especially considering the price point, and must confess that I now own three different models. Give it a try.

Not bad, not great
I used this rod two times. Caught several fish. After using it the second time, the tip of the rod became stuck in the section below it and now I can’t get it out by any means. Wanted to give tenkara a try after traditional fly fishing for almost 20 years, but I can say I will probably never buy another tenkara rod. Just wasn’t my cup of tea.Anyways, the rod itself is probably fine if you are careful to store it correctly and not get any of the sections stuck.

Versatile Rod
I purchased the 10'8"/11'8"/12'9" telescoping rod and combo kit. I was surprised when I received the package and found everything I would need to get started. The price was right for me to experiment to see if Tenkara fishing was a new way for me to fish. Having been a life long flyfisher, I decided to give it a try. I have only fished my local lake so far but I have been impressed with the ease of casting and being able to hit my target almost immediately. So far I have caught numerous bluegills but I am going to the Kern River in the near future to try it on the river. Being able to telescope the rod is very helpful to fish areas less accessible on the lake due to tulles and low hanging trees. I highly recommend this set up if you have never tried Tenkara fishing. It is the cheapest way to see if you will like it. The rod's construction is very impressive. I give it two thumbs up.
