LIFE AFTER WW II
A wonderful read about life after WW II. Many have written novels about the lives of German Jews during the war but very few have written what it was like for the Jewish children who were torn from their parents & sent to other safer nation via thekindertransport network. Grainger writes with such insight & care that you wonder how many persons she interviewed, the mounds of research she had to Wade through. She gives such clarity to her work without drowning you with too many details. With so much growing anti-semitism, it's my prayer that reading this series will give readers a growing understanding of what Jews in Europe & around the world went through in a decade of hatred. There's no way to cover all the abuse the Jewish people have been subjected to since the Lord God chose them as His people. Please read the whole series. I gave the set to my 16 y/o granddaughter only a third of the way through the first book, she's mesmerized, can't put the book down except to wipe the tears running down her face. My other grandchildren will get copies also. What with all the trash taught in Schools now, it was my attempt to give her some understanding before she starts college thisvfall.

Great book!
I have come back to the series after a break. Such suspense. I enjoy the characters you have created. I find them very relatable and interesting.

A Heartwarming Story
Though this book was sometimes confusing, it was ultimately a good book. So many challenges faced by these people and overcome well. It is definitely a story about community and what people can do when they work together.

Fantastic Series
I loved this book as well as the first one! It was so good to read a book that was so heartwarming. It is all about LOVE and how it can cross all barriers and people can live together and respect each other and their differences, as God intended.

Great read!
I found this book to be fast moving. Unlike a lot of stories that try for a conclusion that you didn’t expect this one gave you enough insight to form your own conclusions.

Makes you think!
When I started reading the first book I had no idea how much it would affect me! Ms Grainger brings World War 2 to life, from Berlin to Northern Ireland, the children who were transported from Europe to Northern Ireland aboard the Kindertransport. These precious children were saved from the war & all lived safely in a small town. I'm so glad Ms. Grainger brought this to my attention. These books have opened my eyes to wartime situations I was not aware of.

The Hard Way Home
Excellent book number three of four. In this book, the children are all grown up and each struggle with life's vicissitudes.

Best of the series so far.
Loved the storyline and I love the characters. if only people were like them in real life! I get an education on so many cultures when I read Jean's books,as well as history. My only complaint is I wish there wasn't as much "back story" explanation since I did read the other two books. Other than that, great, comfy read!

wonderful trilogy
I could not put down the 3 books and the interweaving of history and story was done beautifully. Such a terrible time in history worth us all remembering so it will never happen again.

The hard way home
Book 3 a nice follow on... although I haven't done my research on the aftermath of the furers followers it seems highly likely that these situations took place. Good read

book 3 - wonderful but you need to start at the beginning
Liesl and Erich and families are developed so brilliantly by Jean Grainger; I have read all her work (I think!) and I keep hoping that she will release another - I await Conor in August eagerly; these stories are heartfelt and real - enjoy (and shalom as the rabbi would intone)

Good
This is a fitting end to this series I am assuming the end I could be wrong - I like Jean's books I didn't love this one like her others however it was a light read and it kept me reading!
