Q: please would you advise how thick the tin / aluminium metal is in millimetres?

Its very thin. I would not advise buying this product if its for candles. The bottoms are totally flat and can burn or melt the suface they are placed on. Which I found out. You will want the ones with knobs on the bottom.

Q: Would these be appropriate to store tea, spices, coffee - or any food-related item?

I don’t see why not. I used them to make candles. Just make sure the contents don’t react negatively to the metal.

Q: what are the measurements for labels on these tins?

There is a 1-1/2 inch space from the bottom of the lid to the bottom of the can that will fit a label. The can is just under 10 inches in circumference. So the biggest label that will fit the can is 1-1/2” x (not quite)10”.
