Never worked properly since arrived... have to jump on and off a few times before it stops fluctuating.

This is a good, straightforward set of basic bathroom scales. Neatly double-boxed for secure delivery, it is clearly not intended to be a high-priced product, but is sleekly styled, with smooth, pebble-like contours, and is well enough made for the intended use; from a couple of feet away it actually looks like a reasonably upmarket product.Functionality is straightforward. The back-lit display is very clear and easy to read through the tempered glass. The stated weight limits are more than sufficient for the majority of needs, and it can perform a basic BMI calculation in addition to providing weight alone. Calibration appears to be good, and it takes up little space in use or when stored. Changing batteries is a straightforward matter of removing the cover and sliding the AA sized batteries into the compartment. All in all, not a lot to criticise from a straightforward, neatly styled set of basic scales. Recommended.

From the accompanying instruction leaflet I note there are at least 5 variations of the AmazonBasics weigh scales, with mine being the B07W8Y J4KC model which is black rather than grey. After fitting 3 AAA batteries (not supplied) the device works well but the LED display is quite sensitive to any wobbling whilst standing on the platform (the reading remains static for a while after stepping off). Readings can switch between metric kilograms and imperial stones/pounds but the ‘unit button’ underneath is not very positive. Switch-on is via stepping onto the platform, and switch-off is automatic after approx. 10 seconds. It should be noted the weigh scales do not read accurately on a carpeted floor, and a hard surface is essential.

Waste of money, item is not fit for purpose imo

Considering these are Amazon Basics brand they are a good set of scales. The black finish looks lovely in my bathroom and they are easy to clean and wipe down. They take 3x AAA batteries, which are much easier to find around our house than the watch batteries our previous scales used. The scales seem reasonably accurate comparing it to my previous pair and they give the extra half pound etc. measurements, which my old scales didn't. The big bonus for our household is the display. It's very clear, lights up and has lovely large digits, which is absolutely perfect when you are bleary eyed in the mornings trying to weigh yourself! Happy with these!
