My daughter painted over the occupied and vacant words with white paint of some sort - acrylic I think. Then over the sliding part she put the word "cat" with stickers. Over the occupied and vacant words she had painted over in white she put 'in" and "out" with stickers. It works purrfect for our cat. We attached the sign to our deck door and whenever someone lets her out, they slide it to the out position and when someone lets her in, they slide it to the in position. No more asking "Did someone let the cat back in?" There may be a market for this adaption for other cat owners. I'll try to post a photo later. Review: Great purchase - I've purchased these before and had to purchase a couple more for my office. These signs are great. The installation is easy, you can attach them to the wall either by screwing them in or by using the Velcro option. I chose the Velcro option and installing them literally took seconds.

Great purchase

These things are fantastic! They’re super easy to install, takes only a few minutes, and work very well! The sign is held firmly in place and you don’t have to worry about damage to your wall or door if you use the anchor! Definitely recommend!

Great classroom tool!
I use this in my classroom so students don’t have to ask me to use the restroom. They simply look at this sign: if it’s Vacant, they can go; if it’s Occupied, they need to wait.
