Absolutely love this space saver!
Okay first off - I read the reviews with 1 star and I'm not trying to offend anyone but I do have to say that I'm wondering how good those people are at following directions and just putting together furniture in general. I (as the title states) Absolutely LOVE this piece! Its super cute in my bathroom and soo convenient. I love the two smaller shelves - I put a cute perfume bottle on each shelf so that its decorative but also a great place to store them. I liked this space saver as opposed to some other ones I saw on amazon because it had a Cabinet to put less sightly bathroom items, and also a bottom shelf to put everyday things.I do want to point some things out though that I feel people might want to consider:1) It definitely says in the instructions that you should have at least two people putting this together. I did not follow this advice and while trying to stand the unit upright almost managed to break one of the boards - this is what happens when something top heavy and you try to move it from horizontal to vertical so please, heed their advice. I'm sure you can find 1 other person in the world to help you at least set the darn thing upright, or even just assist in general.2) Also obviously you should take your time when building this (anything) and make sure that you're putting in the screws and such *straight* because this WILL affect the finished product. Patience is a virtue. I know at least one person had mentioned that the finished product was uneven - I'm pretty sure that that person either put in a screw lopsided or tightened one side more than the other. A firm and steady hand will work wonders when assembling this little beauty.3) A few people complained that the unit is "flimsy". Again, I'm going to ask that you all think about what happens when you have something heavy on the top but light on the bottom. You wanted an *over* the toilet storage unit, the unfortunate truth of the matter is that when something has more weight on top and less weight on the bottom the center of gravity is higher.Think about the gym rat who only ever does arm day - don't ya just want to side sweep him and knock him down? Same concept. However, lo and behold! The manufacturers gave us a solution to this problem ANCHOR IT TO THE WALL. Which I didn't do, but I'm also not complaining about it. I have no rambunctious children or running animals in my house, so I figured this isn't a problem. (I ordered this a month ago and the unit has yet to fall over on me whilst doing my business - I'll keep you all updated if anything changes!)4) Okay guys last one, I promise! In some crazy stroke of dumb luck instead of fastening the magnetic piece to the unit when the directions said to I decided to wait to do that part until after I had fixed the door on. Turned out that the magnetic piece actually needed to be lower to hit the metal plate that keeps the door shut. A washer or spacer would have come in handy but alas! I did not have one of either - so I went ahead and cut out a piece of cardboard from the packaging and used it instead and you can't even tell! I don't know if this was just mine but might be a good idea to wait on fastening that little piece.Well, hope this review is helpful! Happy home making!!

Glad glad glad we got it.
My notes on it are varied - sorry it'll skip around a bit.I held onto this in the box until the return window was almost up - wasn't sure if I actually wanted to keep it. I needed a shallow shelf to store guest towels on and that hopefully could enhance my general storage. I almost returned it and just got a cheaper basic rolled-towel towel rack since I wasn't sure just how helpful it would actually be. Glad I didn't.Price point: Great.Use: Great. I was able to strategically fold some bath towels to put out for guests - that was a main NEED for this item, and it WINS. General storage seems good, too, although I am probably going find some of the spaces awkward for really MAXIMIZING storage. Shallow depth was REQUIRED because it's a tiny bathroom and you don't have much entrance clearance - it's a perfect depth. I didn't need anyone clonking their head on a shelf in the middle of the night (crisis averted!).Construction process: I had some great fluffy helpers in the building process (as you can see). If you're going to attach it to the wall, make sure to do so BEFORE you install the brace at the bottom as you'll need to take it apart anyway to get it away from the wall to drill pilot holes. That process was easier than expected, though. I anticipated needing my husband's help, but I did it all solo. The instructions looked a little intimidating (and I like putting together furniture), but as long as you go slowly and pay attention, you're fine. Some corners weren't quite aligning perfectly flush, but it's fine all together. The screw covers were a BEAR to get on and my fingers are still sore. I didn't bother putting them on the side closest to the wall; not worth the hassle.Looks: Nice. Modern and versatile enough. Luckily my installed vanity cabinets are white and have similar knobs. I just don't quite understand the need for the "slate" shelf (although I don't hate it). The curving at the top doesn't quite fit with the overall look of the piece to me, but I guess I prefer it to a cheap-looking harsh corner. Speaking of cheap, it's clearly particle-board and EVERY SINGLE edge is worn. The front edge of the "slate" shelf was also dinged a bit, but for the price point I can't care too much. Still, I look forward to styling it - I have a lot of space I'm not sure what to do with yet, but it will probably hold a shower-loving plant, a box/basket or two for some more closed/hidden storage, and maybe a diffuser. Fun! (I "staged" it for a photo but that is NOT what will be there long-term). I had to install it off-center because of light switch placement, but thankfully it *just* fit (yay for measuring), and it doesn't look too bad off-center.Long and the short of it - good buy, although not an heirloom piece. And now my husband wants to get one for our other bathroom!

Sauder made a quality product at an affordable price
Exactly what I was expecting when I ordered it. My main floor bathroom didn't have any storage because it has a pedestal sink. With this unit you can fit quite a bit of stuff on/in it. Even get to use the top of the tank for extra storage for magazines or books(if it's a side or front flush) Instructions were straight forward and all the pieces there(even some extras) Didn't take to long by myself to put together. I did use wood glue as a precaution when screwing it together, but I always do that. Nice and sturdy once anchored to the wall(Anchors provided). Cross piece on bottom; behind tiolet be awkward for some, but shouldn't really be a problem as their isn't much needed to install the piece. Because my tiolet is a side flush it did make flushing the toilet a little different, but not difficult(no one has complained about it). All in all I'm very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable storage unit for the wasted space above there tiolet. Im even thinking about getting another for my other bathroom for the cost if and what you get.

Looks nice but flimsy as f***
Works, looks nice,……but don’t touch as it may fall down. Need to hold unit when opening door. I did not want to drill into wall to secure.

Easy to assemble but cheaper than expected.
The product came ahead of schedule and was packed well and protected. The instructions were easy to understand and didn't take very long to assemble. The down side was it was cheaper then I expected. The cheap cabinet front was thin cheap plastic that was already scratched and won't hold for long. Although I did expect a cardboard backing this backing was so thin it was almost like paper. The shelves on the positive feel sturdy. I would value this more in the $80 range.

Great for a small bathroom.
I'm happy with my etagere. Built it myself slowly and carefully. It is a big job to put together, but the instructions are clearly written--you just have to follow them. I tried to stand it up by myself (I'm senior petite lady) and dropped what was perfectly tight and square. The fall loosened some screws and no amount of tightening restored my earlier success. But with very necessary help, it now stands securely anchored over the toilet, and provides attractive and tidy space for make-up and toiletries.

Perfect for a small bathroom
Have been using this for more than 6 months and one of the best buys. My bathroom is super organized now. I have not attached it to the wall. This is not a super tough item, but I was aware of it prior to buying so I have no complaints. It looks good and is easy to put together
