The product is well made and sturdy; even though the roller is plastic; it is a good quality plastic and smooth operation.However, it came with its European quirkiness; the connector is a snap-on type, and it also came with its hose, which is also a snap-on type. The connector is very easy to install with no tool required, but it differs from the hose you can buy from Home Depot; if it breaks, it is hard to replace it.

Not as sturdy or well engineered as I had hoped. But it does the job. Don't do what I did and let it sit in the box for 45 days before opening, It was significantly damaged but repairable. Always detach the source hose when using the reel or you will quickly damage the quick connector.

I really love their connectors and how easy the product is to use overall. I agree with some people that have posted that the central fitting seems like a bad implementation. Also, it doesn't really stand on its own when you pull the hose out, unless you're pulling it perfectly perpendicular to the support leg, and that leg is fully extended.I do prefer this to other solutions I've had, but it seems like they've spent much more time thinking about their connectors and less about using some of the products. Still, I would recommend it.

Please hope that you never need to contact Gardena for anything. Their customer service is non-existent. Had a product delivered in a damaged box and was DOA. Reported this to them and 2+ weeks later, still no response. Next option is a chargeback. Please avoid Gardena at all costs.

I liked the sleekness and the guided hose reel. I thought this was the ticket. But, as soon as I turned it on it leaked out of the hose reel fitting. Shame cool design

All was good except for the fact that I was missing the leader hose. That’s why the three stars.
