I hope the younger generation of folks have the opportunity to read Rick’s words, the thoughts from some great mentors (who happened to be photographers), and take the time to do the homework (missions). I only wish that I had the opportunity 50 years ago to find these many words of wisdom. Rick got great input from great photographers and other artists, creators, only because they respect and appreciate the collaborative effort that makes this book significant. I just finished reading and thought to myself, "Wonder how long before another Rick Sammon book will be available." Rick states, in of his recent books "Photo Therapy" and "Photo Quest" it is a leap of faith, like the white-faced capuchin monkey, for a photographer to publish books with no photographs.Well, this leap of faith has definitely paid off in my opinion. I personally have grown as a photographer from reading the two titles. Just know Rick, I am here waiting anxiously for book three of this new format.

A profoundly effective presentation of artistic voice by a talented and versatile photographer at the top of the field, while telling the reader the true meaning of achieving passion and being in the zone. He presents it with a spirit of sharing and generous admiration of several other successful photographers, who include notes on their own journeys. Liberal use of insightful quotes and comparison with music portrays the extent and variability of the art of photography in a nice way.

Whether you use a Digital SLR camera, an iPhone or both this book will inspire you, challenge you, and reward you with renewed creative energy. Matter of fact, regardless of your creative focus—music, painting or other—this book will get those creative juices flowing with new ideas. The way the book is written makes it a perfect reference book because each chapter stands alone with its own creative focus.

A great natural extension of Rick's prev book 'Photo Therapy'. Right off in the Intro there were good insights & thought provoking ideas.The presentation of 'words of wisdom' fm the Mentors, & ideas Rick incorporated, & the encouragement to dig deeper into your thoughts to bring out your "style/personal voice" really works!This is Rick's 41st book. He has obviously found his voice!

Rick Sammon created a collection of knowledge that can not only be applied to photography, but to life as well. He imparts his knowledge from decades of photography, and includes the wisdom of ("with a little help from") several of his friends as well. You really can't go wrong with this book, or any of Rick's books!

If you haven't been able to attend one of Rick's workshops, I highly recommend any of his books on photography. This is one of the latest in a long line of great inspirational photo books from Rick.
