Hattori Hanzo Sharpness
My main goal of this purchase was to find something I could put on my keychain that was small and unobtrusive, while still being functional and exceptionally sharp. After this Spyderco Honeybee arrived all of these boxes were checked. The Honeybee folded is literally the same length as a house key and the width is that of about one and a half keys pressed together. Lets just say it has enough thickness to get a decent grip on it. Where the functionality comes into play is Spyderco's signature Round Hole that they fashion into virtually all of their knives. In my experience with buying an array of folding knives in general, most folding knives of this size or that wield a similar blade length (<2 inches.. ex. SAK Classic SD, Leatherman Style CS/PS ) use traditional nail nicks in order to get the blade out. With the Round Hole, you're able to squeeze the back-side of the blade with the soles of your thumb and index finger, and pull the blade out. It almost makes you respect the blade of your folding knife more.. and rightfully so. The blade sharpness on this thing is razor sharp and is NTBFW as it was able to sharp my arm hairs with ease. Damn thing might as well be a surgical scalpel. In summary, if you're looking for a folding knife to attach to your keys that is unobtrusive (both aesthetically and physically), functional (no traditional nail nick), and exceptionally sharp (use with extreme caution), then this is the knife for you. The best part about this purchase is that it was <$20 and is made with the same quality standards as the rest of the Spyderco lineup.

Great Keychain Knife
Wanted a keychain knife but not something cheaply made. They seem to have kept the same solid build quality as their larger knives. It's barely noticeable in weight or size. I haven't used or seen their smaller version (the bug) but the honeybee has enough room to get two fingers and your thumb on there... plenty of purchase and perfect size for cutting paracord, opening boxes, and other small tasks. Not worried at all about it accidentally opening or closing... positive stops on both without being awkward to open or close. Great, sharp little knife and I appreciate the stainless steel aesthetic.

Awesome keychain knife
Had it on my keychain for months now and it shows zero signs of wear. It is a tiny knife and it doesn’t lock so one should exercise caution when using it. I’ve tried numerous little keychain knives and this is the best one I’ve ever had It’s also super sharp

A very small knife
The box that this knife comes in is comically small. I mean, it's just ridiculous how small the box was. You may be saying to yourself, "Self, I can read and already know that this knife is small from the product description." I'm here to tell you that you may intellectually know how small this knife is, but you definitely don't have any idea about how small it will look and feel when you get it. My first thought when opening the box was "This is it?" And then I opened it. The knife opens smoothly and is sharp as a razor. Though tiny, I have no doubt that this knife could be used for everyday carry, assuming you don't need to do much but open boxes. It's really a fantastic LITTLE knife, with excellent build quality. One suggestion: Don't wear this on your keychain. While it's smaller than a key, it's light enough that the keys will jostle it around while you try to cut and sharp enough to slice up your hands when it does.

Quality, sharp, small
Good little knife. I had a $1.50 knife from Pep Boys on my key ring. I knew better, but it worked. I saw this was about the same length and figured it would be perfect. In the end, it's so much thinner and narrower it's actually harder to hold, open, and especially to close safely. I have large hands. As another reviewer said, this is not a one-hand knife. The action is tight and it locks open well. It is just a spring release with not button or level to push, but it won't close accidentally if you're paying any attention. Knife arrived quite sharp. I'd order the larger knife (Grasshopper SS)if I were to do it over again as I learned the blade length doesn't matter as much as total room taken up in my pocket. Edit: Years later I'm less happy with this. It doesn't hold an edge as well as I'd like, and I really miss a one-handed locking knife. Still good for the price, but not 5 stars. If you're looking for a good knife at a gold price in this size and don't care about single hand opening or a lock, it's a solid 4-star knife.

Sweet little knife
This is a great little knife to put on a key chain. It's small, but has a sharp little blade on it. I've had a couple little key chain knives and this one is by far the best. It has a clean simple look to it. Even though the blade has no lock, there is some tension on the blade when it's fully opened or closed; this way you don't have to worry about it unintentionally opening or closing. My friend has the slightly smaller version (Bug) and I feel that this knife if more usable (due to the larger handle and blade), while not overly large for a key chain.

Ridiculously good knife for 9 bucks
I have many pocket knives, including a good number made by Spyderco. I was skeptical about what reviews said here about the quality of this knife but now I get it because I bought one and have been using it. Very well made and machined. Tight tolerances, very nicely honed edge, apparently pretty decent steel (I can tell by how it slides on crock sticks to edge it). It's also a pretty decent sized knife. It does NOT lock, like most Spydercos but that is partly the idea as I understand it from their website. This is a knife that is more "legal" to carry with you (sort of a super sharp, very pointy pen knife) in places where there are issues about lockbacks (UK, New York, etc.) I highly recommend this and I will be getting a number of them as gifts for friends. I do not know how they can produce and sell this for 9 bucks.

Before I go any further in the review I want to say I did not receive a discount when I bought this knife nor was I given it for free, I paid for the item with my own money after researching various Pocket knives that I felt would suit my needs. - I bought this to keep on my keyring for everyday tasks like opening boxes, letters, packages but I was a little unsure on how well this would actually work considering its tiny size. But the size actually turned out to be perfect for my needs. The HONEYBEE comes in a nice little box as shown in my photos but that is all you get with the item. No care instructions etc are included but then at this price (I paid £19) I don't really expect there to be much else included but it would have been nice to have some form of care instructions with details on cleaning and maintaining etc and a little storage case would have definitely been welcome. It’s not the most expensive knife I have bought but I have had cheaper knives that came with a case or even a paracord key ring. The knife itself is very well made and even though it weighs just 17g it feels solid and the mechanism that keeps the knife "unfolded" or "open" doesn't feel flimsy at all and I would again describe it as solid. When I first got the Knife, I noticed that it was already fairly sharp, other reviewers stated that the HONEYBEE was razor sharp but I have to disagree with that, there was no way you could shave the hair on your arm with the blade, it just wasn't sharp enough. However, I am not saying I am unhappy with how sharp the blade comes, in fact I have paid more and had blades that came nowhere near as sharp as the HONEYBEE, I just wouldn't describe the HONEYBEE as being "Razor Sharp". Like with all knives I have owned, the first thing I did is spend a bit of time sharpening the blade and in less than 30 minutes the blade is now Sharp Enough that you can Shave the hairs from your arms. They say that a Sharp Blade is a Safe Blade. Its much safer when you don't need to put as much pressure behind the knife to be able to cut. When it comes to how the Knife looks I think this is a pretty good looking product. The HONEYBEE uses Stainless steel in its construction and the Blade has China etched into it. This might put some people off as China has a reputation for producing cheap steel but honestly, in the time I have had the blade I’ve been impressed with the quality. Will it hold its sharpness as good as some of the better-quality blades I’ve used over the years? Only time will tell, and I will make sure I edit my review in a few months of use to reflect any changes of opinion I have. Over the last few days I’ve used it quite a bit and I haven't had the need to sharpen it. The Razor-Sharp edge that I gave it seems to be holding just fine and there are no noticeable notches or burrs. This thing is so small and light I plan on adding a paracord loop to my HONEYBEE and keeping it on my keychain with my keys, usb drive and I.D. Fob. - Now onto the negatives. In my opinion, there really is very little wrong with the HONEYBEE but I want this review to be as accurate and honest as possible. I’ve said earlier in this review that I thought that the build quality for the HONEYBEE was pretty good and solid. I still think that but if I compare it to a better-quality knife such as the SPYDERCO MANBUG G-10 then I start to notice a few things that could be improved upon which are basically the ergonomics and handling of the knife. I realise that due to the small size of the HONEYBEE you aren’t going to have a knife that is as comfy to hold and use compared to a slightly larger knife like the MANBUG or even a cheaper 8cm blade model like the HIGHLANDER BLACK EAGLE .. but some of the edges could be a little rounder which would make the knife comfier to use. But in reality, I’m comparing the HONEYBEE to a knife that costs almost 5x more and another that is 3x the size. I know I’m meant to be on the negative part of this review but as I’m making a comparison I’d like to say that the blade on the HONEYBEE seems to be just as good as the MANBUG which is a knife that cost a hell of a lot more! I’d say that the HONEYBEE came just as sharp as my MANBUG did.. Initially I thought about buying a second HONEYBEE for my son as a pocket knife for when he goes camping or to add to his toolkit. But I can see that unless you are careful and have some experience with knives you could quite easily cut yourself while folding the blade away. My son is 14 and not the most careful of teenagers and considering how sharp this is (even before I sharpened it) I would worry about accidents. Is that really a negative on the Knife? No, probably not. But it is what it is and due to how small the knife is I think this is just not suitable for my son. I did take a video of me opening the blade and then folding it away to better illustrate this point but for some reason the video just wouldn’t upload with the review... If anyone wants to take a look at it feel free to drop me a message and I’ll sort that out. I have included a few photos to show the scale of the HONEYBEE compared to a cheap Highlander 8cm folding lock knife and also showing the cardboard presentation box that the HONEYBEE arrived in. - My Conclusion: The SPYDERCO HONEYBEE is a good little functional knife and I fully expect it to last me quite a few years. It comes pretty sharp out of the box and it won't take much for you to get the blade truly razor sharp. I would rate the build quality as 8/10 and it looks to be able to hold its edge pretty well, I’ll update my review as time goes on. As for looks, it has a rather nice Brushed Stainless-Steel finish with the SPYDERCO logo acid etched onto the handle. There is a hole punched off centre in the base of the blade which is the trademarked SPYDERCO look. There's a sleek profile to the knife to go with the small size and I’d say this is one of the most attractive designs I’ve seen for a pocket knife. I’d give 9/10 for looks. As for value for money it would have been nice to have had a Keyring or Paracord loop and maybe some care instructions included but it's not a deal breaker for me. There is plenty of room to have a name engraved on the handle and combined with the presentation style box that the knife comes with this would be perfect for a gift. I’ll only give 7.5/10 for value for money just because I’d have liked a small case or keyring at this price point. (£19 GBP or $22.15 USD) I would highly recommend this knife if you want a small, reasonably priced folding pocket knife that you could easily keep on your bunch of keys for when you occasionally need a sharp blade that is close at hand. But if you want something for bigger jobs or if you want a knife for outdoors then I would recommend a bigger knife. It all comes down to what you want the knife for basically. I will buy the SPYDERCO brand again because they really do produce good solid quality products. I now own 2 SPYDERCO knives and I will probably buy more in the future. A low-quality knife just won’t keep its edge, this is not a low-quality product. 5 Star Amazon rating from me or 9/10 overall.
