When new, this sharpener did exactly what it purported to do. The important thing is that the angle be right for the blade you're sharpening. A big negative for me was that 18 months later the fine sharpener was heavily notched and no longer sharpening. The coarse sharpener was also compromised. Maybe washing, drying and storing it after each use would prolong the life. We are in a salt air atmosphere. Hard to see detail in picture.

First of all I need to explain that I know absolutely nothing about sharpening knifes. I've bought several different kinds and just can't seem to master them. I don't want to ruin my knives so I put aside the sharpeners. I bought this hoping that it would work for me better than the other ones. It is. I am so happy with this. I have two pet peeves.... dull paring knives and dull chef's knife. They are the knives I use most frequently. Mine were getting pretty dull and I was thinking about taking them to get them professionally sharpened. I saw this sharpener and decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised with the ease of use and the sharpness of the blade. It's solid enough that it doesn't feel flimsy and when placed on the counter it grips it pretty well. The little cleaning brush is a nice bonus too.

Easy to use and sharpens blades. Light and easy to handle. On knives that are really dull, it takes more time to sharpen, but the edges are really sharp, when finished. Each sharpener is marked, fine or course. Works on my pocket knives as well as other types, even a hawk-bill. Has a non-scratch, no-skid base, so you want have to worry about the table or counter top. I would buy another one, or give as a gift. Sometimes you may have to tilt the blade left are right, slightly, to get the best results. The sharpening assembly is removable. Easy to clean. I bought this product while it was on offer but it still represnts good value at its normal selling price. Its easy to use and clearly puts a new edge on tired blades. I had excellent communication throughout form the seller who resolved a minor problem I had. If you are wondering to try this iten I would recommend it because it does what you want and the seller service I received was second to none.
