Fruitcake is one of the most maligned deserts out there. How many people say “Oh look, it’s another fruit cake from Aunt Edna.” I guess I’m different as I’d love good old Auntie to send me a fruitcake, BUT, no sugar for me! I’m one of the many people who can’t eat sugary treats. It’s like giving a vampire garlic! No, no, no! I searched and found this product. So allow me to give you the pros and cons: Pro: Decent taste Sugar free Cons: Much smaller than what you’d expect. About the size of a Hershey Bar Doesn’t impart the great taste of sugary fruit in the cake. (Yes, it is sugar free after all) Expensive for what you are purchasing Does not have that real fruitcake taste So there you have it. The good and the bad. I suppose if you have a real craving for sugar free fruitcake, this will be somewhat of a substitute, however read my pros and cons again.

This is the fruitcake like my grandmother used to make, but the no sugar added is even better. It is a touch dry but I buy some spiced rum, put it in a spray bottle, soak it down, wrap it in cheesecloth for a day or two and, OMG, it's perfect! Worth the price to me.
