Q: Wondering if this will work on very curly hair? My daughter is of mixed race and has very thick curly hair. Most brushes result in a huge afro.

NEVER brush curly hair dry. Always brush curly hair while wet and use some sort of leave-in conditioner or moisturizer that will give it some slip and won’t be as rough when your brush passes through. I’m also mixed race and I only wash my hair once weekly and brush it out twice weekly. I use a spray bottle with water and conditioner mixed inside. fully saturate the hair and then brush starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots. curly hair likes to do it’s own thing so the less you mess with it, the better it behaves.

Q: How does this brush compare to The Wet Brush?

I have to disagree with others who say the Wet Brush is better, at least for my hair. I have very fine, long hair but a lot of it. While the wet brush will get the tangles out, it takes upwards of two hours or more and comes with much hair pulled out. While it does pull less than this brush, I was able to get all my significant tangles out in less than an hour and with minimal hair removed.
