Better Than the Eddie Bauer 30L – A Must-Have Packable Backpack!
I’ve used the Eddie Bauer 30L Stowaway for years, but this backpack is a serious upgrade. It packs down smaller, feels more durable, and is way more comfortable thanks to its padded, breathable straps and structured back panel. The material is tougher and more water-resistant, and the zippers glide smoothly. I love the added organization—especially the secure back pocket and deep side bottle holders (which actually hold a bottle).Whether I’m hiking, flying, or just running errands, this backpack handles it all without sagging or straining. It’s the best packable backpack I’ve used—lightweight, tough, and smartly designed. Highly recommended!

I can’t say enough good things about the G4Free 40L Lightweight Packable Hiking Backpack! I originally bought it for hiking, but over time it’s become my go-to bag for theme parks, weekend trips, Cheer Comps, and everyday adventures. I loved the light blue floral pattern. It reflects the sun and helps keep my back cooler in the hot Florida sunHere’s why I keep coming back to it:✅ Incredibly Durable – I’ve had this backpack for over 3 years, and aside from a little dirt, it’s still in amazing shape—no rips, no tears, and all the zippers still work perfectly. That’s saying a lot given how much I’ve used it.✅ Lightweight & Comfortable – Even when fully packed, it’s easy on the shoulders. The adjustable straps and chest buckle help distribute weight well for all-day wear.✅ Perfect for Travel – It folds into a compact pouch, which makes it a breeze to pack in a suitcase. I always bring it as my extra bag when traveling, and it’s saved me more than once!✅ Park Essential – For theme park days, this bag is a lifesaver. It holds water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, ponchos, souvenirs—you name it—without feeling bulky.✅ Spacious but Organized – The 40L capacity is generous, but the smart pocket layout helps me keep everything in its place.✅ Water-Resistant & Tough – It’s handled light rain and rough terrain without a problem. For the price, the value is unbeatable. Perfect for Alaskan cruise!
I bought this backpack to take on an Alaskan cruise. It was perfection. It is very lightweight and kept all my items dry while it was drizzling on a whale watching tour and walking through Ketchikan. It has a ton of side pockets so you can get to important stuff quickly.

Not for carrying a laptop
I recently purchased the G4Free 40L Lightweight Packable Hiking Backpack, Waterproof Travel Daypack, and it's been a bit of a mixed bag for me.Let's start with the positives. First off, this backpack is large and spacious, providing ample room for all my travel essentials and more. The design is sleek and attractive, and I appreciate the variety of pockets and compartments, which make it easy to stay organized on the go.However, there are a few downsides to note. My main disappointment with this backpack is its lack of sturdiness. I initially bought it with the intention of using it to carry my laptop, but I quickly realized that it's too flimsy for that purpose. The material is thin and lightweight, which is great for keeping the backpack itself light, but it doesn't offer much protection for electronics or other fragile items. That being said, I've found other uses for this backpack that better suit its strengths. It's perfect for carrying swimwear and towels to the pool or beach, as it has a great waterproof outside pocket for transporting wet clothes and it's also great for camping trips when I need a lightweight pack for day trips.Overall, while the G4Free backpack didn't quite meet my expectations for carrying a laptop, it's still a decent option for other purposes. It's large, pretty, and has plenty of pockets for storage, but just be aware of its limitations when it comes to carrying delicate items.

The perfect bag for cruising and cruise excursions!
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a lightweight packable bag to go in luggage and be used for cruise excursions in Hawaii. I was mostly thinking it would be used for our snorkeling gear and initially I purchased two smaller ones. We took all of them on the cruise with us and quickly decided that it made more sense to take the larger and have that extra space especially since these bigger ones weigh not much more. And the straps on the side to help hold the water bottles made a huge difference. We tried the smaller bag and it didn't have straps to help with that and several times are tall metal insulated water bottles would fall out. Like when you're taking the backpack off or if you're using it on just one shoulder. But in this backpack the bottle was secured and kept in place between the netted section and then the strap that goes around the upper part of the bottle. I also really love that it has the built-in wet bag on the back side. Several times on excursions we would swim and then have wet items and we could stick them in there and they would not get anything else in the backpack wet. And when we would pack to head out to the excursion we would place our dry clothes in the built-in wet bag so that they would stay dry until we were ready to change clothes. Because most of our excursions were on boats and water related and sometimes water spray hits the backpacks. The backpacks went through many excursions with us and we're stuffed to the gills and functioned beautifully. I know I saw some complaints and reviews that the bags weren't sturdy enough but I think these are people who were trying to use them for long-term backpacks, like backpacks through Europe, etc. I think these are more intended for the type of purpose I was using them for. For my purposes they're definitely five star bags. And the weight of the empty bag is about 1.3 lbs.
