Save time and effort prepping turkey or chicken.
These are very good quality. The price is a little high for what they are, but they get the job done well. I used them to spatchcock my turkey this thanksgiving. It cut right through easily; making the job a lot easier than past times when I've used a butcher knife. They seem well made and unlikely to rust. The fact that they can be disassembled for easy cleaning is a plus - just be careful not to accidentally open them too far and have them fall apart - the first time I did that I thought they were broken... but they were fine and went right back together easily. Overall I recommend these and I'm buying a second set as a gift for a family member.

Excellent tool
These are really good scissors for cutting tough things. The main target is chicken bones, but they do well on other stuff you might hesitate to tackle with ordinary scissors. Your fingers go through the hole in the lower handle and your palm grips the upper handle against a spring. This means that you don't need to use your thumb to make a cut and you can use the whole strength of your hand. The two halves come apart for cleaning, so you don't need to worry about grunge and corrosion hiding inside the joint. When you put them together they fit precisely, so no wobbles or gaps between the blades. The only downside is that the cutting edge is only at the forward end of the blades: if you open them wide to cut cardboard like you would with normal scissors nothing happens. This design makes sense for poultry bones, but you need to keep it in mind for other stuff. We had a pair of these for many years. Eventually the spring broke, so now we've bought another pair. The spring is the only reason I gave it 4 stars for sturdiness; its clearly the weakest point in the design. But don't let that put you off; these scissors will still give you years of good service.

Fantastic for cutting chicken bone/skin (if kept sharp)/ pork skin.
Excellent poultry scissors. I have been using them for 6 months now. They crunch through chicken carcasses and pork skin (great for cutting up the pork rind). You do need to keep them sharpened to keep cutting through the chicken skin. I found if i sharpen them every 5 or 6 chickens they are a dream to use. I use the following sharpener purchased from Amazon: "SHARPAL 191H Pocket Kitchen Chef Knife and Scissors Sharpener for Straight and Serrated Knives" If you don't keep them sharpened you will still crunch through bone but they will stop cutting the skin. it will also make you start to squeeze down on them harder, so keep them sharp and all good. Other reviews have said they are too big for there hands. I have extremely small hands (like a child) and i have no issues with them at all. That is because they self open, that's what the bendy metal thing is that you can see in between the handles. this makes a huge difference to the stress on your hands. I cut up about 30 chickens a month, not including the pork rinds which you really cant cut with anything else. so they have been well used by now. Other reviews have also said that the little red locking mechanism gets in there way while they try to cut. Lol. That is why the handle has a recess inside it (as shown in the photo attached) when you start to cut fold it inside and it won't bother you at all. Pull it back out to lock the scissors so they are safe to store away. The spring loading bar is awesome, it really saves your hands when you have a lot of chickens to cut. It springs the scissors back open for you. I will never buy poultry scissors without one as i have arthritis and it kills my hands without one. It is also better to have a bar than a coil spring as bars are easier to keep clean and hygienic. They split apart for thorough cleaning. Well worth the money and even at this price if i had to replace them in 12 months (which i don't think will happen, and if does i will alter this review) I still choose these for any replacement in the future If you have found my review useful could you please click the “Helpful” button below. Perfect for my needs!
I bought these poultry shears as a replacement with my Henckel shears that have been in use for over 10 years. I use them exclusively for cutting up whole fryer chickens for making cat food. I'd debated sticking with my previous brand but decided to give these a try based on reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The ergonomics are a little bit different from my old shears, so it took a few episodes for my hand muscles to get used to them, but now I love them. They cut cleanly through meat and thin bones/joints; and I love the fact that they can be taken apart to clean them rather than having a fixed spring that can get food embedded or rust. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend them to anyone considering this product.
