Solid Opener for Gallifrey Spin-off
This is a solid feature-length opener for Galiffrey. It does everything that you could ask. It establishes the overall situation with Romana being President of Galiffrey and Leela's husband missing presumed dead, putting her position in the city in peril, while also beginning to establish the relationship between the characters. It also features a crisis on the planet Gryden that threatens to lead to war between the Temporal Powers, a war Romana has to prevent. What we get is a solid combination of political drama and space opera.Other than an overlong opening, my only complaint with this story is that the story introduced a few too many characters, some of which should have been fleshed out more but weren't. Still, the principal cast is well-written and the piece is well-performed, making for a solid opening.

Leela nearly steals the show
The first entry in the Gallifrey series brings together character favorites from the companions of the 4th Doctor.Leela, Romana (now Lord President see The Apocalypse Element (Doctor Who) , Dr Who Twin Audio CD Neverland (Doctor Who) and Zagreus (Doctor Who) ) and two different K9's Mark I and II both played by John Leeson. The first half of the story is dominated by Louise Jameson as Leela. This is not a big surprise since her character is of dynamic action.Romana spends most of her time fighting political battles until she is also forced to take action to get things done.A lot of the Doctor seems to have rubbed off on both and it makes the show strong. It is a good start for an interesting series.

At the heart of Gallifrey; the Time Lords
This is the first of the series of Gallifrey stories which are set in the Doctor Who universe, although the Doctor never appears in them. The stories revolve around the politicla machinations that take place among and around the Time Lords on Gallifrey - the Celestial Investigation Agency, Braxiatel, and Lord President Romana. Leela and K9 are also present, Leela having been married to Andred and living on Gallifrey for some years. When this first story starts, Andred has disappeared and Leela is attempting to go and live among the Outsiders on Gallifrey when Braxiatel finds her and takes her to Romana, who has asked for her help. From here, things get complicated by the rumours of a device that could fracture time, and the "allies" of the Time Lords who want to control time themselves. Should the ability to manipulate time be available to all? What would that mean to the Time Lords? These are great stories, and I've listened to series 1 (4 stories), series 2 (5 stories) and series 3 (5 stories) and am working my way through them again so I'm up to speed to listen to series 4.This is great stuff, and it's nice to be able to listen to the stories from the beginning again and get them all into the overarching story arc. Looking forward to Gallifrey 1.2 now - Square One.

These are a great spin off
These are a great spin off. Lots of excitement and intrigue at the heart of the Time Lords. Wouldn't be the same without President Romana to keep it all together.
