God Made You to Be You! Fearfully, Wonderfully Made You.
Jamie Ivey's new book You Be You is a Godsend- and I mean that literally! The fun, catchy title could bring pause to some who may fear Jamie is pushing another "self help, do-it-yourself, pull yourself up by your bootstraps" kind of message. So good news, fellow reader: If you don't want fluff, and you want deep, spiritual truths instead, you've come to the right place!Jamie's book offers no empty platitudes or life-hacks that fall short. Instead, You be You bleeds Jesus on every page. Jamie invites women to step into their talents, gifts, and God-given abilities to become the person that God always created you to be! This book is special because Jamie lives this message every day in her work with her podcast The Happy Hour, and in the book she shares lots of stories of other awesome women who are leaning into their callings right where God has placed them- whether that means doing something big or something small.Jamie wants you to know that you don't have to have a podcast or a TV show or 500k followers on Instagram to make an impact for the Kingdom. You can be you right where you already are, believing that God put you there on purpose and has fully equipped you for every good work!Favorite chapters include Chapter 7, "Unavoidable but Invaluable: The Opportunity in Adversity," about how sometimes your calling is born from experiencing difficulties, and chapter 5, "The Trouble with Comparison," about how to believe in your unique gifts when it seems like everyone around you has better ones.I cannot recommend this book enough. I'm already planning a re-read to fully soak it in. I'm a woman in my mid-20's, wondering how I can be used where I am in a new city where I know nobody in the middle of a pandemic! Jamie's book helped me to know that I am free to be me and fully embrace the joyful truth that God placed me here on purpose, for such a time as this.

The Freedom to Just Be You awaits inside this book!
I love Jamie Ivey! I have been listening to her Podcast, The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey since she started. So when she wrote her first book, If You Only Knew, I could not wait to read it. And I was not disappointed. Now with her second book, You Be You, she has really hit it out of the park. She has a way of writing that makes you feel like she is just telling you stories. She is authentic and down to earth, which makes her relatable to so many people. In this book, she really brings home the freedom of being yourself, who God made YOU to be, just as you are. No comparing to others on social media, no wishing for talents you don’t have. She opens your heart and mind to having a relationship with God and knowing that He made you to do what is meant for only you. What a relief that is!I believe Jamie Ivey and this book are for “such a time as this”. We all need to be set free from the trap of feeling “less than” what we see on tv and social media. It doesn’t promote a healthy mindset and we are never satisfied and fulfilled. She explains all of that and so much more. This is a book you don’t want to miss. It is so easy to read and you will feel she is right there with you, cheering you on to just be you! Awesome!

Cute?? I guess
I guess if you homeschool, have a dedicated God fearing husband and have the pleasure of surrounding yourself with only Christians then yes this is an awesome book and your life will truly be better. But......How about a book for the rest of us?? I work in the "secular" world Monday through Friday, part time on weekends, my Christian family only calls when they need money, and my husband refuses to step foot in another church. Oh and as for the church, well, we were only allowed to be on the "clean the toilet/scrub the pew weekly committee", or the free babysitting service (nursery). I've been a Christian for 43 years and on most days I'm praying the Lord will give me just enough inspiration to get out of bed.Sorry for the nasty review, it was my choice to purchase this book. I will be donating it to our local library.

JUST WHAT I NEEDED TO GET BACK UP
To put simply, I love this book. So much I am already reading it a second time. I have nearly highlighted everything in it 😂 which is silly but I’m telling you, WOW.I think for me it was the right message at the right time. The pandemic had me hiding in a hole, burying my gifts and talents with me. I needed to hear that my voice matters and all the encouragement that Jamie offers with every obstacle that arises from using that voice. I’ve been defeated before and this was the “girl, get up” message I needed. I will continue to recommend this read to others!

Fabulous AND Authenticly SINCERE!
AFter already having become a 'fan' of her podcast (even at age 68!), I was even more pleasantly surprised at the depth of Truth Jamie came through with in her book! There's even MORE Biblical substance in her book than what I've experienced on her podcast, Happy Hour. This book causes me as a believer in Jesus to really take some good, long looks at that which drives me! It's packed with scripture references and truths right from God's Word (which is ultimately what matters most!), yet this book can be gifted to a woman whose faith journey may not be a reality yet! Thank you, Jamie Ivey, for putting yourself AND God's truths out there! God bless you as you minister!

Was I faithful today?
Such a great book! Jamie Ivey encourages her readers to use their talents right where they are to fulfill our mission of being more like Jesus and being faithful everyday. Her writing is fun, like she is on her The Happy Hour With Jamie Ivey. I laughed so much and grew in my faith even more. Thank you Jamie Ivey for using your talents to grow the kingdom.

The Perfect Book for NOW
I pre-ordered this book and have been on the launch team this month with one of the most incredible book club ever! Reading this book has been such an encouragement to me. In a world that wants to tell you that everything should be about You, we were created for a much Bigger purpose! To bring God Glory in everything we do by being just who he created You to Be!! This book is perfect to help us remember Who we are! It challenges us to be better, it shows us compassion and grace when we know we will fail. I am thankful for Jamie and the words that she has give us, for such a time as this.
