A modern approach to Jung and counselling children and adolescents.
This is a throroughly researched and beautifully written book. Following on from the work of Axline, Oaklander and Allan this will become the 'go to' book on Jungian therapy with children. At last a manual specifically designed for school counsellors, psychologists and therapists who wish to encompass a modern Jungian approach in their work with children and adolescents. Dr. Green invites the reader to go on a journey chapter by chapter of rich theory, case studies and empirically validated practice. Each chapter has a clearly delineated goal and structure to engage the reader in a learning and thought provoking process. Dr. Green skilfully draws on his experience and knowledge of working as a counsellor and therapist with children and adolescents from diverse populations who have a variety of diagnoses and therapy needs such as young people with autism, ADHD and those suffering from trauma, bereavement and sexual assault. From the beginning the reader is embraced in the Jungian process by being invited to participate in creative and deep experience. If you are curious to see how a Jungian paradigm can be relevant and indeed vital in today's modern therapy approaches then this is a must read. If you read mindfully you will end the journey in a different place and hopefully as a better therapist.

Loved the book
Concise and thoroughly insightful on the theoretical and practical application of Jungian play therapy. Loved the book! Finally something that uniquely describes and explains the foundation and implications for working as a Jungian psychotherapist using play. Thanks Eric!

While a good rood, it was overpriced
While a good rood, it was overpriced. If there had been some mind blowing information in here, it might have been worth the price. For such a small book with alright information, overpriced.

This is a great introduction to the topic for someone with a beginner's ...
After anticipating the release of this book for several years, it would have been difficult for it to fulfill my expectations. However, it nearly did. It is obvious that the author's theoretical understanding is rock solid and that he has clear ideas of how to make practical use of the Jungian perspective. At times, it seems that he takes his knowledge for granted, making extensive use of Jungian jargon and falling short of the level of detail that I was hoping for. I could have profited from further elaboration of both the techniques and the underlying theory, linking the two even more clearly by describing the underlying process in everyday language. Overall, however, the writing is inspiring and provides a sense of the general goals of Jungian Play Therapy. This is a great introduction to the topic for someone with a beginner's understanding of Jungian theory. Now I want more...
