Informative, easy to read

My grandma read the original book to me in the 90s, this updated and colorful book is great for me in 2025 to help me explain to my daughter.

i ordered the book from a thrift store and it took its time getting here..but thats okay. i got this for my 9 year old in 4th grade. the book had great reviews. she got it out of the mailbox herself and went off to her room with it.. later i checked on her after bed and she had the book in bed with her and i could see she had made it half way through already to a page about feminine hygiene products. i guess shes a bit embarrassed by everything ...though this book does a good job of explaining it all everything without making it seem embarrassing. she also had a girls only health class in school and said "she just died" out of embarrassment...because there were other girls she knews with her.

I luv the illustrations and easy to understand reading this book provides. My niece loves her book and helps answer a lot of questions she’s too nervous to ask and it allows a conversation starter to occur. Parents should be present when the child reads it and I recommend reading it before the child- the last couple of pages to introduce the male form with illustration

Definitely helped with both my kids 1 boy 1 girl. I had to do little to no explaining.

This book is fantastic! It covers everything including things you may not think of like shaving and bathing, and things you may not want to talk about like masterbation and homosexuality. I would say it is great for 3rd-6th grade depending on your child. I got it for my 11year old 5th grader and I have one that will read it next year when she is in third grade. It is very age appropriate...not too childish like some other books we have read but also not too grown up. It gives just the right amount of information.

Positive read for my 10 year old daughter Who I admittedly had not discussed in true detail the adolescence and puberty coming of age events. This book breaks the ice and really explains it in a respectful and easy to understand way. Let her read it and than see if she has any questions and it opens up the dialogue on sometimes a very awkward subject. This book was recommended by the “Mighty Girls” website.

I was looking for an alternative to the popular AG body books and found this in another review. In my opinion this is so much better. For two reasons, it promotes a very body positive mindset and provides more information. My girls are 6 and 9, some of the info goes over my 6 year olds head but my 9 year old is very engaged and asking questions. I want my daughters to have all the information they need about puberty, bodies and babies so they aren't tempted to learn from friends or the internet. I can't say enough good things about this book!

Got it for my granddaughter...she's 9 😳 and got her period! Great book and understanding for her. My son, her father, sat and read it to her and explained 😆

Mi hija ha estado haciendo preguntas durante un tiempo, y estaba buscando un libro que pudiera ayudarla a entender lo que está pasando con su cuerpo, especialmente porque he notado que por ahora no está muy dispuesta a hablar conmigo sobre todos los temas. Para la edad a la que está dirigido, es un gran libro, lleno de mucha información presentada de una manera adecuada para que las niñas preadolescentes se entiendan mejor, e incluso hay un poco sobre los chicos. He visto a padres pudorosos preocupados porque hay demasiada información en el libro. Creo que tal vez la edad del niño no sea la apropiada para el libro; preferiría que mi hija aprendiera sobre estas cosas en casa y me hiciera preguntas. De lo contrario, las aprenderá de sus amigos y de una manera que podría no ser tan adecuada.
