funny, romantic, thoughtful
This book was not what I expected, but better. I love the dynamic, and I love the way Shane & Bradley work. So it was a slow burn and those are not my favorite books at all. I thoroughly enjoyed this book very much. It might have even changed my stance on slow burns.

Susan Hawke Delivered as Promised!
First confession: I often judge a book by its cover. Kudos to Cate Ashwood Designs for this awesome cover. It lured me into my "first date" with author Susan Hawke. In the introduction, Susan explained her reasons for writing this book in response to the year of 2020. Second confession: Susan's intro was the hug I needed after this awful year of 2020. The pandemic, the political chaos and divisiveness, just the literal hate spewed everywhere. I needed a breath of fresh air, and Susan delivered, lock, stock and barrel for me.Bradley as a single dad with a darling five-year-old daughter Maddie are totally believable characters. There's a hint of anxiety in Bradley's life, and this is where Shane floats onto the scene. I enjoyed Shane's brief interaction with flirty barista Marc. I hope Susan someday brings back Marc. He was quite entertaining. I also adored the character of Peaches who served as a substitute auntie in Shane's life. There's a special fact about Shane that pulls the story together. The interaction between Brad, Maddie, and Shane happens at a quick pace. Some of the other reviewers found fault with the layout and progression of the three main characters' storylines. IMO, that's the glory of fiction! It's all fiction.I have a sweet tooth, and Susan Hawke handed me a box of chocolates with all my favorite fillings. She has a great writer's voice and pulled my heartstrings with this gift of love and hope.Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks, Susan Hawke. Looking forward to reading your other books.

Exactly what I needed!!!
What an excellent read by Susan Hawke.I've devoured most Susan Hawke and Suzi Hawke books, and up until this book, it's always been in audio. So when I had an opportunity to request an advanced copy from the fabulous GRR, I did so with crossed fingers and bated breath. Happily, I got the book, and I was not disappointed in any way. I'll go ahead and note this is my opinion without influence and all that other disclosure jazz.Dancing with Daddy is light-hearted but still unique. It manages to be light while still showing the underlying realities of real life. I love that just because there's not huge angst or a relationship conspiracy bolder doesn't mean it's all fluff. Sometimes you get a happily ever after without the struggle even with all of the hardships life that aren't relationship related. That's my story, and I love it when it's done in books, but only when it's some well and Hawkes did just that.I'm sure not everyone will appreciate the supple and nuanced writing this story is, but that's their loss. It's well written and just what I needed right now. It is worth noting that unlike her books under the other name, there's not a large amount of steam. I will say that what steam there is was well placed and hot as you know where. After my advanced and post-release (just to be sure I still loved it) reads, I can say with the utmost confidence I recommend.

This book was so smoopy sweet. I l8ve how Shane and Brad decided to turn something that could have destroyed a family into a new friendship. Brad finds out his daughter isn't biologically his, and Shane finds out he has a daughter he never knew about. They decide to become friends and be tgere for esch other. Over time their friendship turns into something more and I absolutely love this story.Brad is an ocd man who is terrified something bad will happen to him ot his daughter. He lost his wife to a car accident and it's just intensified his fear.Shane just broke up with his ex boyfriend whrn he caught him cheating on valentines day. He finds out he has a daughter and drops everything to get to know her better. Two lonely men who find out that they fit together quite well.Sweet little 5yr old girl added to the mix and you've got sweetness overload. Sassy Nana to even things out and this story is awesome

A very enjoyable read.
This is a wonderful story. It was an enjoyable read. There were times when the dialog threw me out of the story... just felt not quite real... not so far off that it was a mortal blow - just.. maybe too expository or on the nose. Real speech is full of information gaps and can be circuitous... like dialog that came off an outline rather than from the characters who have individuated from that outline. Often all the characters are so up front and open with their feelings and what they want that it comes off as too idealized. But that said, it really was a beautiful story. It is worth reading if you like a happy story with likeable characters.

Absolutely Grinning, I Am
This was one of the most positive books I think I have ever read! Bradley (soon to become/return to? Brad) has a darling young five-year-old daughter Maddie. His wife died in a car accident when Maddie was two and their little family is doing OK for themselves even if fireworks don't go off in their daily lives. Shane is a lovely, creative, somewhat more scattered-type man who comes to live with Bradley and Maddie. I'll let you read the book to find out why; it's a really nice, but quite life-changing reason.I so don't want to give the incredible details away that Susan has included in this full-to-the-brim story but suffice it to say that the family of two will become a family of three or should I say four, or five or more with the extended family and friends that are carefully included in this tale. I am so satisfied right now! Thank you Susan!!!

Fun, sweet and heartwarming read
This was a sweet and heartwarming read. I loved how well the characters were written, how unique they were, and how the sassy older ladies didn't overwhelm the plot, instead adding a fun and loving layer to it. Shane and Brad were wonderful MCs, and I loved that Maddie played such an important role in the book, and with both these men. Shane and Brad were friends first before anything else, and I loved that their friendship was the focus for the story, and for them putting Maddie first in all things. The epilogue was sweet, and I felt rounded out the whole story beautifully. It left the story in such a positive light that you can't help but see their HEA.The only thing missing was any sort of final input, reaction or resolution with Trina's family. After being introduced to them at the start and being told that they saw each other a couple of times a year, we then get nothing else. I would have thought there would be an introduction at some point, and some sort of reaction to Shane and Brad now being together, but nope, they're never interacted with again and only spoken of in regards to Shane's past with Trina.Otherwise a great read and one I would probably recommend, especially for those who like single dad stories.

Strangers to friends to lovers
Oh, what a beautiful slow burn romance. Strangers, then friends, then best friends then lovers. A beautiful, single dad book. Sometimes sweet is all that you need. I loved Shane and Brad xx
