Great Rod!
I bought of few of these rods getting back into fishing after a long break from the hobby. I restored some old Penn reels from the 50's and bought a new Abu Garcia bait caster so I wanted something that could catch bass, catfish, and everything above or in between and some rods that I could rotate my reels on.The first fish I caught with this rod was a relatively large Bonnethead shark (3.5 ft) with a 50's Penn No. 9. I had the drag tightened all the way down and when the fish came close to the boat it took drag so fast and effortlessly that the line left a nice burnt gash on my thumb, having it carelessly resting on it. The rod performed great and not once did I even think about the rod's ability to bring the fish in. It was only after that I took a moment to appreciate the rod's performance.A week or so after, I took a little trip down the river close to where I live and caught a baby striper about the size of a bluegill just longer. I felt the fish as soon as it hit and the reel offered great sensitivity for it being rated Medium-Heavy.Long story short: These rods are an amazing bargain and offer fabulous versatility. At $27 I'm planning on buying 3 more and see no need for higher priced rods. I take extremely good care of everything I own and sometimes the mentality of wanting to preserve something, especially if it cost a lot of money, gets in the way of actually enjoying it and using it to it's full potential. With these rods I would have no issue replacing one (or two), allowing me to relax and enjoy myself and not have a trip ruined because of a ruined rod. However, they are well built and I don't see a issue arising out of build quality. If you are hesitant, as I was, to try this rod out because of the low price tag I would encourage you to give it whirl. I'm usually a hard to please consumer but feel this rod is a winner.

One of the Best
For context: I go Bass fishing basically everyday.. maybe twice. The quality of this rod holds up to my abuse! I like the old cork grips, and use the finger rest frequently. I confidently know what the lure is bouncing off of. It's sensitive but firm enough to know grass vs Rock, vs limbs etc. I have a shougilang? Reel on it, and it's an unmatched performance! Because I'm alittle rough, the single piece design works for me better. To tell you how rough... I got very mad on the water 3 days ago, and I took this very rod and smacked it against everything, the water got hit at least 10 times, my kayak, trees..you get it ..it didn't break! I don't even think it scratched? I've had rods break because I touched the water reeling too hard. To top it off, the beautiful red color just gives me a sense of pride in my set up! And I like to match my rods and reels and the line, that red makes it easy. I have gray, black and red on these poles. Would I buy this rod again and or recommend? I just bought 4 more of these to set up... So yes!If you're anything like me, and read reviews and want good quality but you're frugal and don't want to spend much.. I get it! I found this rod and haven't looked back!AMAZON DOES NOT SHIP THIS IN A BOX, ITS SHIPPED JUST THE POLE. I've gotten damaged ones! It's not the pole. They get hung up in their vans and they rip and tear. The pole is fantastic! I throw this in the bed of truck a couple times a day-daily.. it holds up

Value
Yes you can buy more sensitive rods, yes you can buy tougher rods but if you are after affordable, good quality, usable rod I don't think you can go wrong with them.

Saltwater Inshore tested
I rigged 1/4 to 3/4 ounce jig heads with swimbaits / soft jigs for inshore fishing around SoCal. I've been tangled in kelp and snagged on rocks, this rod was strong enough to give solid tugs or pulls without breaking. Most of these cheap $30 or less rods break under that stress. Reel was Shimano SLX A with 12lb dark green mono, I was able to cast minimum 75' if I over head swing it. Caught some 8" to 1' bass on it, no issues with durability. As always, you must rinse your gear with freshwater after saltwater use or it'll corrode. If you have people to fish with who are not familiar with fishing, I'd just say hand them a rod like this with a good quality reel. If they drop it off the boat or scrap the rod on the ground, oh well, nothing major lost. It's perfectly suitable to catch fish. This rod isn't sensitive relative to my more expensive full graphite spinning rod or my graphite x glass composite casting rod but it's not insensitive either. I'd say 5/10 sensitivity. Just OK, not good, not bad.For me personally, I retried this rod for guests only or a spare pre-rigged cranking rod when I'm fishing the boat. It's just not sensitive or long enough for my preference.

Awesome rod for the money!
Very good rod for the money. Not too expensive and hold up very well. I broke the fist one I bought a couple years back fighting off big bull reds in 20mph water even though this is ment for bass I put this rod through hell and it took the abuse very. well couldn't ask for more👍🏽
