Bought it for my 10 year old son he loves it. We do it outside though because it can get messy. Water does help.

I've bought these 3 times now for kids of different ages ranging from 4-8. Kids love them!

This was a Christmas gift and my kids have spent a lot of time with it and have enjoyed themselves.

My daughter loves these dig-type sets and this was one of her favorites. There is so much room that we were able to work on it together which was fun as well. There are a lot of things to find so they don't get bored half way through.

Without a doubt, this was a well-worth buy. I used this with my lesson plan for my church club ministry class. The kiddos enjoyed themselves, and my kiddos found all of the stones. The only drawback is that it can get a bit messy. Our tables in class have plastic tablecloth liners down, but I suggest a plastic tablecloth that you can roll up and throw away when done.

My 5 year old son is really into rocks and hunting for them. Despite it saying it was recommended for children 12+, we wanted to give it a try.It was hard for my son to chisel away the pieces to find the rocks but he still enjoyed it. We would chisel away just enough so that he could easily extract the rock.It is nice that it comes with eye protection as pieces do fly as you chisel away. It also comes with a ceramic streak plate we tried using but didn’t really understand fully how to use it. Also, the poster that is included has English on one side and Spanish on the other.I took a picture of the rocks using the small magnifying glass as a size comparison. We were pleased with the variety of rocks that were in our kit. The rocks are small but we didn’t expect them to be big. Overall, if you have a child who enjoys collecting rocks, I would recommend!!

This item was a great science project for my son. He enjoyed it but was upset to find there were only 10 stones instead of 11 that the package states.

Got 2 as gifts for my kids. The brick is a lot harder than I thought it would be for kids. The box says each kit comes with 11 stones but one of them was missing a stone. I'm not impressed for what I paid for it.

Huge mess; only seven stones (we chiseled through the whole block), no colours and no glowing like shown. Poor quality.
