This is a 5 to 9 inch piece of Driftwood attached to a black or purple slate base (Please note: Purple Slate is no longer available so all ornaments will be mounted on Black Slate only). Slate bases provide weight which helps improve submersion in an Aquarium. Soaking the ornament is recommended before placing directly in your aquarium. Soaking helps remove natural tannins from the driftwood. Tannins, while not harmful, may temporarily darken your aquarium water. The Slate base will increase the stability of the ornament in a terrarium or vivarium setting. Not recommended for use in Saltwater Aquariums.
