My absolute favorite pen! It's inexpensive enough for general use, but durable and writes on stuff at odd angles without "stopping". Highly recommend this pen.

Good Pen & Great Value!Comfortable to hold with a subtle triangle of the barrel at the business end of this pen. Balanced in your hand - doesn't shift while in use. The click to open and the lock-release at the side are each unique. It prevents any unintended pen-point retractions. I seem to have difficulty with that with a regular ballpoint pen. I suppose it could be me...

Ball point pens have had a tried-and-true design for at least many decades where the clicker is on top. It's easy to find and works well for both engaging and retracting the pen. It takes about a half second to find the clicker and you can do it without looking or thinking. There's NOTHING to improve on this design. But "Pentel" decided they're going to reinvent the ballpoint pen and have the clicker on top for engaging the pen and another clicker on the side for retracting it. The side switch is blended into the pen (doesn't stick out like the clicker on top) and it's the exact same color of the rest of the pen. So the side clicker is hard to see. I always have to look for it, so it's a time waster. No more Pentels for me. One star for a dumb idea.Update: Another big problem is that no matter what color the ink is, the pens are all black on the outside. Not only does that make it difficult to see the dumb retraction button, but I will use the pen thinking that it's black ink and get red ink instead. These pens are horrible. They're not even worth keeping around as backups.

I've always had good luck with Pentel. These write smooth and solid where more well known cheap pens don't. Comfortable three sided design. Retracting the tip is different but easily adjusted to. I really these pens except for the sticker on each one which doesn't want to come off.
