Tread Upon Serpents!
While most people appear capable of sensing something is wrong, it took Reclaiming The Catholic Church to explain what went wrong, how it happened, and who was and is responsible.Filotto’s is a knowledgeable style, measured, rational, and considerate, all with an edge and a fire about it. It is indicative of both stern character and higher intelligence. It took someone like Mr. Filotto to research and write such a book - which I recommend in the highest regard. All Catholics should read it along with anyone else who considers himself a Christian of any stripe.Reclaiming The Catholic Church is 500+ pages of substance. I read it on Kindle where, thanks to the ease of digital operation, the reader may immediately access reams of additional, supporting information from other works, original and meta-analytical. The material presented and discussed is exhaustive. Filotto’s literary approach is as humorous as it is intellectual. I found the entire book, in addition to being almost overly cited, to be extraordinarily well laid out. Beyond mere structure, it naturally developed a smooth “flow” for lack of a better word. This may have been intentional on the author’s part, or else Filotto has an innate storyteller’s ability. It could be both cases. It could be, it most certainly is, that Filotto makes fine use of the Gifts given to him by the Holy Spirit. In exposing the plans of the enemy, he exhibits a fearless resolve sanctioned by Scripture. “Behold, I have given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall hurt you.“ Luke 10:19. All that said, here is the beginning of why this book is a critical work of Christian thought. On page 43, Filotto writes an explanation of Catholicism and Catholic thought. Rational thinking is a formal process. It is not taught today out of an evil desire to break the family unit, and the nations, and to ultimately corrupt and undo Christendom. What passes for modern society is the result of the centuries-long onslaught against Christian civilization, the capping achievement of which was the coup in Rome, a subject well and thoroughly explained in Filotto’s book.Filotto concentrates his considerable knowledge and talent on the freemasonic infiltration of the Roman Catholic Church, over time, particularly, during the mid-20th century. The major premise of the book revolves around the seeming fall of the Church, to that infiltration, which culminated with the publications of the Second Vatican Council (“Vatican II”). This matter, this deception, is a personal matter for all Christians. Thus, I encourage them to read Filotto’s book. Vatican II provided the schism, by way of heresy. The “Sedes” are the only Catholics fully, advisedly holding the devoted line, regardless of how one answers the question.Along the way, Filotto does a grand job of explaining the real history of Catholicism, sometimes as a refutation of various slanders told against it. The gates have not and will not prevail against the Church because of the supernatural Protection of Christ. Filotto’s book is beyond important. It is a fun, necessary, and exciting call to the Good, the True, and the Beautiful. We needed the explanation this book provides. An accurate description is all the more needed as evidence of the problem, in an unexplained state, is all around us. There is a war against “Radical Traditionalist Catholics” - meaning faithful Catholics. The Catholic Mass is described, by putative Catholics(!), as a cult of “toxic tradition”. The 1960s modification of the Church, to fit in with contemporary moral standards and behaviors, has been a success that renders the modernist Church little different in character than the average social justice warrior or neo-Trotskyite.Filotto labels Chapter Five “the core and heart” of the book. It is. That is the chapter where is presented the majesty of the Code of Canon Law of 1917 and the resulting Catechism. This is where the differentiation between valid Christianity and the “values” of the new anti-Church becomes manifest. One reasonably acquainted with real Church history knows that, sadly, this kind of betrayal and alienation has happened before. For those living in times of Ecclesiastical fissure, the process is understandably discomfiting. Yet, rest assured that history also repeatedly shows that momentary breaks in our orders inevitably give way to renewal. Our quest is to both understand, and then get through the unpleasantries. We should, of course, be thankful at all times, for all things - even, or especially those things that cause us disquiet. One need not fear the truth. We are reminded on page 320 that “Catholics are NOT given to a spirit of fear”. We’re not. And the first step toward doing the brave first thing is to know what is going on. Start by reading Reclaiming The Catholic Church.

Insufferable Read
This 529 pg book was difficult to read. In addition to the shoddy scholarship and poor reference & citation inclusion, what made it so difficult is that Filotto's grammar, sentence structure, tirades, and overall style is atrocious. To give you an idea of what the book sounds like here’s a sample. On page 392 Filotto wrote:“But you will also note that wormtongue Salza doesn’t want you or me to DEMAND something of those ambiguous fakers who perhaps have tried to continue to pretend to be actual Catholics by perhaps never referring to Vatican II and possibly not mentioning Bergolio as Pope ever when doing their Mass and maybe ONLY doing the Latin Mass (which is valid, unlike the fake Novus Orco Mass).”Imagine an entire book of that! I’ll give you one more. On page 357 Filotto wrote:“Jay reads a lot of theology books. And then makes a big deal of this fact and his ignorant followers fawn at his knowledge. There are only a little couple of problems. While Jay might read a lot of these books, he certainly doesn’t seem to grasp their essence very well, and secondly, he absolutely misrepresents their contents to suit his agenda of the day and this can and has changed over time with the result that various people have made videos of these about-faces of his various positions.”Reading Filotto’s adolescent insulting rants was insufferable to me and yet I managed to complete the entire book. Even his subtitle “The True History of Vatican II and the Visible Remnant of the Real Catholic Church now that the Vatican is a Pederast Infested Hive of Impostors” is a long-winded rant. This book should be read with a bucket close by because readers will get dizzy trying to follow Filotto’s spastic run-on mind. He more or less admits it on page 374:“I get it, my punctilious, obsessively-compulsive, geeky, I want-all-the-details, Asperger-suffering, slightly autistic friends. Truly I do. For I am one of you myself in certain instances, and it is always good to investigate things yourself.”Moving on to the substance of Filotto’s book, it offers nothing new to Traditional Catholicism. Just about everything Filotto brings to the table (in convoluted disorder) was already written decades ago by competent authors - who actually edited their work. Those interested in learning about Sedevacantism and the history of the Church which led to this position should not waste their money. A far better book is the Radeckis’ Tumultuous Times. Also, anything by Fr. Anthony Cekada.Filotto writes a lot of nonsense that indicates he did not invest the time to know the material. For example, on page 125 he states that Eastern Orthodoxy denies that the pope of Rome was considered “First among equals:” He wrote:“Often confused and conflated with papal infallibility all that Papal Supremacy means is that the Pontiff of Rome was always considered first among equals. The Eastern Orthodox will rail and shout against that sentence, but vainly and invalidly so… The smarter, or perhaps better read “Orthodox” do not deny this because literally it’s scattered all over the patristic writings and various councils, as I said, accepted by all present at the time as a simple and true fact.”This is not just a mistake; it's author negligence, especially because some of his insulting rants in this very book are against people who know well the main issues dividing Eastern Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism. As any knowledgeable Catholic or Orthodox Christian knows, “first among equals” has never been the dividing issue. Orthodox Christians reject the pope’s universal jurisdiction (i.e. supremacy over the whole Church). That Filotto doesn’t understand “first among equals” is embarrassing. But it gets worse, much worse, because Filotto goes on to “define” “First Among Equals” on pages 125-127. HINT: Filotto has no idea what he is talking about. The above is only a small sample. There are too many problems with this book to fit into this review but hopefully I made my point. I’ll finish it with this. On page 243, Filotto (whose book is about the true history of Vatican II that led to Sedeprviationism) wrote:“I will reproduce the work done by Benjamin Frederick Dryden, with the blessing of Daniel Dolan who at the time it was written was a priest and is now a Bishop in the Catholic CMRI (Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen).”The problem is that Bishop Daniel Dolan does not belong to the CMRI and nor did he ever belong to the CMRI. Bishop Daniel Dolan’s organization is St. Gertrude the Great (SGG) based in Cincinnati, OH. To understand the significance of Filotto’s error, I’ll just summarize a few important facts about Bp Daniel Dolan that made him an extremely important historical figure in the Sedevacantist movement. He was ordained by the famous traditionalist Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in in Econe Swizerland in 1976. Upon his return to the Unites in 1977 he went on to establish 35 traditionalist Mass centers and became one of the famous "nine" expelled from Archbishop Lefebvre's traditionalist society (SSPX) for holding the Sedevacantist positon. Bp Dolan still serves Sedevacantist communities in the US, Mexico, Brazil and Europe. The fact that Filotto does not know about Bp Dolan is a warning to readers of what they should expect out of this book. Unless directly quoting an authority, everything Filotto writes should be suspect and checked for accuracy. He’s grossly unqualified. He would do well to stay within the area of his claimed expertise, Hypnotism, and leave theology and Catholic history alone.

A detailed and conversational exposition of the sede privationist position.
The bad:> Formatting is a mess, chapters begin at the bottom of pages, main body and side notes are badly demarcated. The good:> The author uses natural and conversational language to cover immense amounts of material.> Side notes lead to enriching external sources.Overview of the books structure:> Rigorously logical, the opening present axioms, followed by a historical overview of the churches infiltrators, their nature, and attempts by the last loyal popes to inoculate the ecclesiarchy.> At the heart of the book is Canon 188.4 from the Pio-Benedictine code of canon law, followed by an exhaustive dissection and refutation of popular objections and objectors.> This tome ends with a miscellany of topics, from the virtues of the Latin Mass and the viciousness of the Novus Ordo "Mass" to extra readings, online resources and Papal Encyclicals. As a personal note, I would like to add that the Papal Encyclicals are a delight to read. This is only a preliminary review, as I have not yet had the time to read and contemplate the additional recourses mentioned in the book. Conclusion: Highly recommended to any one curious about the sede privationist position and true Catholicism.

Must read for any Catholic
This is an excellent and essential book. As a cradle Catholic learning about sedaprivationism this book helped me put alot into perspective. It thoroughly explains the freemasonic infiltration of vatican 2, it's abundant heresies and how it is all completely invalid. Vatican 2 usurped almost two millenia of tradition and dogma unbeknowst to most ''Catholics'' today. And for those who doubt these claims, have no fear, the author has almost certainly adressed all your arguments in a more than convincing manner. All in all, its a long read, but that is no excuse for anyone seeking Truth. And although sedaprivationism may make the future seam bleak, we are not given to a spirit of fear. The challenges ahead are invigorating, time to make the rubble bounce!Godspeed
