Arias for Soprano - G. Schirmer Opera Anthology | Vocal Collection | Classical Soprano Sheet Music and Songbook for Singers Review: Arias for Soprano: Volume 1 - This book is by far my most tried and true friend. I bought it again because I not only overused and spilled numerous cups of coffee on my last book, but I took it with me everywhere and I would lose my own head if it weren't attached. Nonetheless, I digress. I have had this book (in one form or another) since I started studying classically 10 years ago. It includes a good variety of arias from various operas across all languages and over the course of opera history. It is an excellent book for college students, because the music is very legible and approachable. Larson has included many stylistic suggestions (appogatura and melismas), as well as a program notes section that includes scene descriptions and translations (which are far better than all in-music texts in other soprano anthologies). I often find it easier to use this music in auditions rather than provide score copies to an accompanist. This volume, along with the coloratura, oratorio, mezzo-soprano, and volume 2 soprano should be staples in any younger singer's library, and are great references for high school and college professors. Review: Good quality and price, beginner soprano loves it - My first time to purchase a used book on desertcart and it was so good!!! The book quality is great! I’m a beginner soprano and it has been very useful for me

Super practical book for any soprano, whether you are starting in classical singing or "aged" singer! After 8 years I am still using the same book.

A Must Have!
This book is filled with arias for the student who is training to be a classical/opera singer. It will serve as a great starting point as a student learns the basic arias in the opera world and keeps them at a level to not overblow or destroy range or do damage to their vocal cords. They would be considered entry level arias, technically wise, which is where one should be focused on initially before they progress on to anything more technical or mature for their voice. This book should be a staple in every serious student's library.

For Everyone
Contains some famous arias, and some not really heard of. The book has a variety of arias, some with slower tempos and simpler melodies, and others with fast paced tempos and coloratura notes. If you are a soprano, I highly recommend you get this book! Even if you are not interested in classical music, it's always good to learn your instrument (soprano voice) and have a rounded experience.

Excellent collection of arias for the student or those who already know them.
Excellent collection of arias. Especially like the translations and background for each aria at the beginning of the collection.

Wonderful!!
These anthologies are just beyond wonderful. They have a brilliant selection of songs and the piano part is easy to follow if you wish to play and sing at the same time. The translations in the front of the book are clear, and while not underneath the other text in the actual songs, is easily written in if so desired.
