3 Dimensional Design

The book content is awesome. I’ve followed this author/ artist/quilter for many years and love her work as well as her books. She makes it very easy to understand the 3d concept using 2D. As an artist in fabric only, I don’t have the knowledge and skills needed to begin to know how to find the diminishing points and know about off centering. I will use this book often. My only complaint is the quality of the print itself. I didn’t realize until after I purchased it that this book is what they call “print on order”. I had no idea what that was. It’s basically as if someone copied it on a regular office printer rather then a professional publisher. The color pictures are very dark, it’s really hard to appreciate the author’s beautiful work because it’s hard to see the detail in these really dark copies of color photos. Had I know about that or what it was, I would have opted to buy the print from the publishers and had a higher quality of print. Other then that it’s a great book!

The quilt on the cover is just beautiful, but when you open to page one and it shows a protractor and other types of tools not commonly used in quilting I quickly decided it went beyond my skill level.

So unique and informational. Katie PM's techniques are amazing. Easy to follow and understand. Highly recommend this book and others by Katie.

This is a wonderful quilting book for the technically minded person. I really enjoy this myself as I would very much like to design my own quilts.

Wasn't what I was expecting.

Would have given a 5 star, but no patterns. You have to figure it out yourself. Takes a bit of time, but can be mastered. A little hard. For advanced quilting.

In diesem Buch befinden sich Beispiele, wie man dreidimensionale Quilts entwickelt und was beim nähen zubeachten ist. Es werden verschiedene Perspektiven beschrieben. Man sollte schon gute Patchworkkenntnisse haben um mit diesem Buch arbeiten zukönnen. Ist sehr hilfreich zum entwickeln eines 3D Quilts.
