The Boxtrolls: A Novel Hardcover – Bargain Price, September 2, 2014

The TV commercials for the movie caught my attention as a trip into whimsy so when I saw the Amazon ad for the book I gave it a go. I expected a story aimed at a very young audience, a la "Shrek", but as I read I changed my mind. The characters may appear directed at the younger set and the plot is classic "Good triumphs over evil", but some of the dialog would scare the pants of youngsters. Be that as it may, this very senior citizen enjoyed the quirky novel as a quick, amusing read. If you take things seriously, pass it by, but if you are an adult willing to be a child again for a couple of hours, take a chance. Try it; you may like it.

Frankly, I knew nothing about this book or about the Boxtrolls; whatever they were. I bought the book for my pre-teen nephew. He seemed to know just about everything concering these strange little creatures, so based on his interests, I bought the book. From what I've heard, I must have hit paydirt. The book was everything he wanted. Entertaining, Easy to read, and it has more than ample illistrations that any young adult will enjoy. So, don't take it me, but from a pre-teen, this book will be hit!

This was such a great book

Began reading the Boxtrolls book to my grandson hoping he would want to continue. He wants me to continue reading it so he can enjoy it more.

this was a gift for a young friend who didn't put it down until she finished it. love it.

I'm a big old Boxtroll fan so to own the book is a dream come true. I LOVE IT!!! Excellent quality/like new.
