I was taken back on the quality of this. It's perfect for holding boards for soldering and the adjustments are very practical. The blue arms extend or close by riding on the center metal piece with the product name stamped on it. The rubber(good material) holds things tight. It really helps in stepping up my soldering game for a cleaner end result. 10/10 would purchase again but the materials seem like I won't need to replace anytime soon unless I hit it with a hot wire and melt it lol.

The thing really does make assembling and repairing small boards much easier. But, the knobs that tighten the locking screws that keep the unit at the angle you require, & that maintain pressure to hold it in the jaws, are too small in diameter and hard on arthritic fingers to turn. Another improvement would be to include some suction cups as feet that can be interchanged with the ones it's currently equipped with. If you need to actually pry a soldered component lead up from the board while applying heat, or any similar action, the unit slides around on the work bench. I'm using a small 'C' clamp to keep mine anchored when necessary, but if I didn't have one, I'd be a bit disappointed. I'd have rather paid a bit more and had it come with its own way to latch it down to a work bench. Still, until something that latches comes along, I do recommend it. But, if you don't already have a small 'C' clamp, I suggest you order one along with it.

I had high hopes for this item, for soldering circuit boards. I found though that in the vertical position it slips and doesn’t hold the ckt board well. You would think this is no big deal, because you never solder it in the vertical position, but…the reason I bought this is because the standard alligator clip holders don’t easily let you go back and forth between the solder side and component side, which is something that you OFTEN want to do because you have to identify the component and locate it when unsoldering something from the solder side.Which is exactly why I bought this. But IF they had only out some rubber piece in the two tracks, something that could compress and hold the rigid circuit board it would have gotten a rating of six from me.There is a spring on one side that is meant to put pressure on the board, to keep it in place. It doesn’t do the job so well. I’m going to see if I can cut a rubber strip and glue it in there to help.

Arrived well packaged. It had already fell apart in box, if it was assembled. All the thumb screws and nuts were loose in box. When put back together it would not hold in set position. Slightest pressure board would rotate. I could not tighten thumb screws sufficiently to keep it fixed. Mostly plastic likely to break with any substantial use. Recommend not wasting money on it. I would not pay $1 for it. Returned. Never used. I replaced it with "SainSmart Magnetic Adjustable Circuit Board Holder". I far better quality produce that is all metal. I believe you will be better served buying it or one of similar construction.
