My husband and I have started blogging our golf rounds to document our swing progressions. This gimbal is super easy to use! We took our time reading through the directions and also tried out the companion app. While the app is not required for the gimbal to operate, it does offer additional features for your recordings. Beware that using the app will also use additional battery power for your phone and the gimbal; I would not recommend using the app while recording for extended periods of time because of this. Overall, this product does exactly what is advertised, and the available features are a great deal at this price point.

The media could not be loaded.  In quarantine, I’ve decided I am an adventurer and also I am my own one-woman production studio, so I can document said adventures. I love me a good panoramic photo - there’s just so much to look at in one image!So I bought this gimbal and thought certainly, I’ve made a mistake because I have no idea what I’m doing. But once it got here and I powered it on, I am now unstoppable! This gimbal has come everywhere with me now. It’s lightweight and folds neatly to fit into a small carrying case, which I drop into my purse. It also has a wrist strap so I don’t have to worry about dropping this gimbal with my phone and breaking both.After watching some YouTube videos, I was worried that my iPhone X might be too heady for the payload of the gimbal but even with my otterbox case, the gimbal works just fine. I was also skeptical about how much of a difference a gimbal can actually make in my phone videos but... I skate and I’ve been recording videos of my skate sessions with this and they look SO good and so professional.I will say, it takes some time to get comfortable with the controls but the companion app for this gimbal comes with some really cool presets - so even when you don’t know what you’re doing, you can just select a preset and it records, plays music, the whole shebang.I’m adding a video to this review of the panoramic video preset, taken while I was skating. Look at smooth and stabilized that video is!

I only give 4 star because of my specific usage. I want to get a gimbal that can automatically track my daughter's hour-long dance lesson. This gimbal almost could do the job. Overall, I'm impressed with the performance of this gimbal. But for my specific usage, below are the cons:1) Bluetooth connection sometimes drop out. Happens during long recording sessions.2) Tracking software stop controlling motor after 7 minutes or so even with bluetooth working. I can see tracking rectangle still moving on screen. And I can still zoom using slider. Joystick still can control motor too. So most likely software issue.3) Tilt angle is only +/-30 degrees. This issue is only a problem when I'm walking around. Have to hold gimbal upright.4) Software do not have option to store video/photo on SD card. Hohem can easily fix this one.5) This one is nitpicking: I can see the gimbal frame when I use wide angle lens on my Samsung galaxy S10e. Need to set zoom to 0.6x instead 0.5x to avoid seeing gimbal in frame. Shouldn't be an issue for most other phones.I'm impressed with motor smoothness, accuracy of control, and object tracking ability. But because I bought the gimbal specifically for object tracking function over hour long recording session, I'm sending this one back.

I have had the Hohem iSteady X Gimbal for a couple of years, and it's a piece of garbage. Unfortunately, after a few months of ownership, the Bluetooth connection between the gimbal and my phone became unreliable, making it virtually unusable. This is a massive letdown because I bought this gimbal expecting it to last for a long time.The battery life is significantly lower than advertised. I would get 30 minutes before it would shut off. For these reasons, it is impossible for me to recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable gimbal.

This was my first time using a gimbal and I used it to record footage of an amusement park! It kept my phone super stable when I was walking and I got really good clips of the roller coasters and very stable shots with no bluriness. Using the product is a breeze once you get it set up and install the app. My friends were impressed by it and thought it was the coolest thing ever.

I don’t know if mine was defective but no matter what phone I tried, the app was useless and the controls had a mind of its own. Probably one of the biggest waste of money I’ve spent and I’d rather use a manual hand stabilizer for much less or a more expensive, higher quality gimbal. This middle of the road is bad and not dirt cheap, thus not making this worth buying.

Battery life is sufficient for my use creating short cinematic clips. Easy to balance and use. Controls are very much instinctive specially for those who have used gimbals before. Love that this has one of the highest payload for smartphone gimbals in its category. No problem carrying and balancing my iPhone 12 Pro Max with a few added accessories. As far as counterweights goes this one has no place to attach one but as you can see in my picture I had to be creative on what counterweight to use and where to place it. Even with the added weight, this gimbal didn’t have any problem balancing my setup. Finally, I love how Hohem I-Steady X is so compact when folded for fast storage!

Love this product! It works just as I expected and is very user friendly. It comes with instructions that are easy to navigate.
