Simply amazing.
I have numerous carving knives but this one is probably going to be my favorite. It's comfortable in the hand super sharp and an amazing product. If I could I would give 20 Stars. An amazing price. Definitely go out and get yourself one you won't be sorry.

What does "razor sharp" mean?
It means it will shave hair off your skin, right? This knife has a very nice hancle and a well-formed blade, but it was not even close to razor sharp. The next level of sharpness is "sticky-sharp". That means it will catch on your thumbnail under its own weight, not just slide off it. Nope. If you look straight at the edge under direct light and see a reflection off the sharp edge--it isn't sharp. Not only was this knife not sharp by any of those criteria, it had small knicks in the edge.I have been whittling and sharpening blades since I was a boy, and I expected only a few minutes of honing with whetstones whoud give me a good sharp blade. It turns out that the steel is extremely hard, (which could explain the chipped edge), so it took a LONG time with honing stones to produce a micro bevel and an edge that would cut hairs off my arm. I expect such hard steel will stay sharp. It's okay, but I don't know how they can say "razor sharp" and leave off the rest of the phrase--"after you hone it for a half hour."

Sharp little thing!
Great little knife that fits in the hand well and isn't tiring to use. Very sharp blade right out of the box. Expertly packaged and shipped quickly. Great service!

good for small projects
For the price, this is a great knife. It was sharp right out of the box and I was able to carve a spoon with it. The handle is comfortable and the blade is a good size. I was worried about it not having a sheath, but it did come with a plastic shield over the blade that works perfectly fine as a safety shield when not in use.

i mean, its ... fine?
Came with an overly-thinned blade, such that was cutting using the chip left from grinding. (is this meant for peelin taters?) I honed the blade on stones and strop and it is... fine? for $10 i figured why not, but i found out why not. way too easy to affect the curve of the blade on fine stones, so the steel seems soft. doesnt lend itself to holding an edge well. should be fine for basswood, and maybe paring pine and fir. I worry it will break attempting white oak...One reviewer from the previous year mentioned a wax finish - mine came with no finish. I just gave it a coat of boiled linseed oil (BLO), same as my other woodworking tools. this affords good protection for the wood, while letting you maintain a good grip (really feeling the wood grain bite into your hand) for control.I have big palms and long fingers, and the handle on this suits me well.

Surprisingly sharp
I was just cruising Amazon looking at carving knives and tools and I stumbled on this knife. I thought I'd give it a try. Right out of the box, it was very sharp and ready to carve. I'm currently carving a nativity scene and I tested it on one of the figures. It was comfortable enough in hand and sharp enough that I just continued carving with it until I finished the figure.I also like the little carvings plan included in the box. I thought that was a cool little extra. Only thing I did was oil the handle after I used it cause the wood is raw.Would definitely recommend this knife and I'm going to shop for some of their other knives now. Gonna grab up some more before the prices go up.
