Mad Max [4KUHD]

This is just the most crisp cleanest most natural looking way you will ever see this movie. I cannot imagine it be coming better.

Mad Max on 4K is an absolute stunner of a disc! Kino Lorber took an ok blu ray transfer and made the film come to life again. This was the first 4k from Kino Lorber I ever bought and they’ve done amazing work ever since. If you still haven’t upgraded your old blu ray of Mad Max then get this edition asap! One of the best 4k discs I own hands down!

1979's MAD MAX looked pretty darn good when it first came to blu-ray disc, but the 4K is very nearly mind-blowing. You do get both the original Aussie soundtrack and the U.S. American 1980 soundtrack on the 4K, but it's the picture quality, on 4K, that absolutely rocks. Especially if you "max out", or nearly so, the Contrast on your 4K player, boost the Brightness a tad, and maybe boost Color one notch. The 4K video quality on this title is crazy good. I've got a pretty big 4K tv screen, so 4K does make a noticeable difference. This one's a Rocker, a Roller, a right-out-of-controller, no doubt.

"Mad Max" stars Mel Gibson as the title character in Gibson's first starring role. Released in 1978 by AmericanInternational, the movie takes place in Australia " a few years in the future". Max Rakatansky is a star memberof the Main Force Patrol, a highway police force which mostly patrols the rural highways and small towns of southern Australia, although their decrepit and damaged headquarters building is located in a large city, probablyMelbourne. The viewer gets the impression that Australia has been mostly spared in a large catastrophe ( a globalwar?), but there are the signs of decay in civilization nevertheless.While there is a degree of normalcy, the citizens and police have to deal with "crazies" and "scags" on the roads and in the isolated country towns. Dealing with horrific, high-speed traffic accidents -often after police pursuits- is the norm for the officers of the MFP. Max, the department's best pursuit driver, is thinking about leaving the force because his wife hates his job and they have a toddler son. During the pursuit of a cop killer who was driving a stolen police car, a member of an especially vicious outlaw biker gang is killed in a fiery car wreck while being pursued by Max, and the gang's leader swears vengeance on the young officer. What follows will be the defining moment in this fictional character's life.Good scifi-type film of a dystopian future, which spawned a raft of mostly poor imitations into the late 1980's."Mad Max" has a late 1970's look, which is now rather nostalgic in that I was 22 when the film came out.

The media could not be loaded.  Mad Max 4K choose the Kino lorber disc édition because the Warner disc has not Dolby Visionwith Dolby Vision the picture is more clear and more softer, HDR is good tooand there are the audio commentary by the team :David eggby,Chris Murray,Jon Down..

I saw this movie when i was 6 or 7 years old. One of the reasons I love it is because Mel Gibson was the first White man I fell in love with! This movie was cutting edge and futuristic back in the day, but by today's standards its quite outdated! So my review is nostalgic and pensive for the 80's. The cast, and their cool names, are awesome! My favorite "freak" was Johnny The Boy! Also, Mel Gibson's body in that leather suit, GOD is good!

We enjoy all of the Mad Max movies, we own the bluray set as well as the 4khd.They all advance the story with each movie Mel Gibson, Tom Hardy and Tina Turner as well as all other actors are great in the movies.

This film has never looked better with the clarity of 4k and color.

Groundbreaking action film directed by George Miller and starring a young Mel Gibson, both of whom are in top form.Even those who don't care for action films, like me, will have a hard time ignoring this one.The film opens with an extended chase sequence involving a drugged-out thrill seeker being pursued by police and ends in not one,but several, high speed crashes. The stunt work here, as in later scenes, is truly amazing!Also deserving of praise is the outstanding editing, which speaks for itself, and the somewhat bleak set design, which emphasizesthe barren landscape and the oppressive violence of a society ruled by thugs in leather.Gibson, as the guardian angel (and avenging angel) Max, is an iconic modern anti-hero, determined to put an end to this horrificviolence and especially to the scumbags who think they can get away with it.When Max's wife and child are terrorized by the gang, it brings to mind Sam Peckinpah's "The Straw Dogs", a likely influence."Mad Max" would itself inspire the later Terminator and Die Hard series of films, among others.As a bonus, we even get to hear the actors speak with Australian accents once again!

The original Mad Max. The one that started it all. Take's me back to a wee lad watching the car chases and the blood and guts. Max is Mad and you better get out of his way.
