Royal Palm Tree (Roystonea regia) - Packet of 15 Seeds

I did everything the instructions on the packaging said to do, 4 weeks later, there is no sprouting of any kind. I wish I could return there and get my money back.

As long as you are patient and invest some care, you will get several of these seeds to grow. I have had six come up, and I'm not convinced I've seen the end. They can take months to sprout but then are pretty solid. I would suggest soaking them for 48 hours first, then planting them in a warm location or shining a heat lamp on potted ones. This seemed to work well for me.

Did everything that was specified , followed instruction to the T. Changed water every day Planted the seeds in a 1/2 inch of black soil,moist, no sprouts in three weeks , a waste of my time

I have no experience with Royal Palm Seed but have grown other palms from seed including Queen, Sable, Robilini, and Canary Island. All the seeds I have planted in the past were rounded and firm. I bought 2 packages of the Palm Beach Seed Company Royal Palm and the package says 15 seeds/packet. I put "seeds" from both packets in water to soak for 6 days changing the water every day. Each time I changed water there was a significant amount of "chaff". I planted 25 "seeds" (some seemed to be just hollow shells) in new potting soil (see photo) I will see what happens but I am not optimistic.

Took nearly a month to arrive. Only two of the seeds didn’t turn to dust when pressed between my thumb and forefinger. Soaking the two remaining seeds now. Don’t have much hope but will update if they sprout.

I haven’t planted them yet . I am very excited about growing these beautiful trees. As soon as I move into my new house, in 2 weeks, I am gonna plant them.😃

Very unhappy seeds never sprouted.

I don’t know if it was my brown thumb or bad seeds but I tried for weeks following instructions and never saw any sign of life from any of the seeds.
