It takes a small, 1/4” shank to go through my receiver hitch and it needs to be pretty long. This works perfectly to secure my trailer safely to my hitch ball.

I have had several of these locks and they work well IF YOU KEEP THEM LUBRICATED. I’ve had some on my trailers for well over 5 years, and if you’re using them in winter with salted roads, you absolutely must lube them with a good spray oil at least 3-4 times per year. I normally buy these locks in a set with the coupler insert lock, but have a bad habit of occasionally leaving the bar lock on the trailer frame or tool box (or truck bumper for that matter) and driving away. Hence why I need to purchase new ones occasionally!

I had bought some thing at Harbor freight but it didn’t adjust enough so it would’ve been very easy to get it in there with bolt cutters. This one has Adjustable ranges so it’s perfect. Add to that, the price is so much better.
