I didn't expect much for what the price was. I am very pleasantly surprised.Cons: The zip on handle cover is crap, I tried it on once laughed and threw it in the trash. It moved all over the bow and made it very hard to consistently place my hand in the same spot. I glued a strip of suede on it as a arrow pass and I position my hand directly below it. You could do the same by using a sharpie marker line. The 2 bow pieces are not quite flush to each other there is a crack where you can see the center connector piece. I have not had it pinch my hand or cause any problems so not sure if this is really a problem or not. The center connector piece is separate from the 2 limb pieces, I was certain I would lose it in no time so I messed with it till it seemed to fit best and then glued it into one of the limbs. Getting the string to line up on the siyah's the first couple times you string this was a nightmare. After the loops "relaxed" into shape it was much easier, or maybe I just got better at managing it.Pro's: It fits in my quiver when broken down. Bonus points because I get to laugh at people when they ask me where my bow is when I first show up to the archery range. It is fun to shoot and accurate. (FYI If you are used to shooting a bow with a shelf there is a learning curve.) It is a low poundage which makes learning thumb release much easier. I realize for some folks the low poundage may be a con but it is exactly what I was looking for. Max draw length is listed at 30 inches and it means it, which is hard to find on a bow this short. We didn't notice stacking till a smidge over 31 inches. It has gone flying off a horse when we had a spook and suffered no damage. My 9y old grandson was reluctant to learn to shoot off his knuckle but this bow is COOL looking so now he is all in.I was expecting a barely functional bow for $50. What I received does everything I wanted it to plus extra and is fun to shoot as well.

I wanted to have a new adventure, so I join a LARP. Created a character and had my first weekend at a game. On my secong game I wanted to up the ante and try something I have never done before, ARCHERY. The Larp had a pull weight restriction of 30 lbs and below. This was rated for about 25, (20-22ish in actuality)The bow looks cool, a great bow to learn on and its pretty fun.My only annoyance is the leather grip is very loose, I ended up eewing on my own leather strap.All in all, its cool and fun, and it fits my larp. Can't go wrong if you are just entering archery.

At $50, this was among the lowest priced horse bows. As a beginner, I wanted to get the experience of such a bow and this bow did the job. That took about an hour. After that, it's cheap construction and particular design persuaded me to pack it up and return it. I'm glad to have tried it but I'm now willing to spend over $200 on a laminated bow with consistently high ratings. It is hard to find a takedown at 20# like this one, but I'm willing to deal with 30# and hope my form doesn't suffer.Specifics: The use of an insert for connecting the limbs is okay, but doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. It's not very secure; the limbs will fall off if you don't hold them together while assembling. The handle cover will keep them in position. but it is not tight either. It slips around the handle as you use the bow. The cover is real leather which is nice, but the zippered method is a terrible choice. It is difficult to get on and the zipper failed after a dozen shots. That was the dealbreaker, as it's indicative of the overall quality.The build is adequate with no sharp edges, but seams, small divots and other marks are apparent in the surface. I chose the brown version and it looks like what it is: an all-fiberglass bow with a so-so paint job trying to look like wood. The fake grain adds to its obvious low end status.The tips are very narrow and there are no string bridges nor grooves to keep the string aligned. My string slipped to the side quite often. Whether this happens on the shot to effect the arrow flight or happens after the arrow leaves, thus having no effect, I can't say without a high speed camera. There are many bows out there with similar tips and no bridges, so I suspect this is not a problem.On the positive side, the lines of the bow are very attractive. In terms of shape, it's nice to look at. It is light and feels comfortable in the hand. The experience of shooting was good; no hand shock to speak of and the smooth draw and release convinced me that continuing with a horse bow will be fun. It is a good feeling. As to consistent accuracy, I can't say. I'm a new archer, so pilot error is a factor. That said, with good form and concentration, I was able to land very tight groups and the occasional shot exactly where I wanted. This was with the target very close, about 2 meters, as I'm indoors and working on form.Conclusion: If you don't mind a bow that looks like cheesy 1970's fake woodgrain Formica, if you're patient with the awkward installation of the cover, if you don't mind having to make your own handle cover, and if you aren't afraid of losing the insert, this bow will perform well enough to give you the feel of Asiatic archery. I think it is rugged and will last, though the handle cover, a key component in holding it together, will not. It was for me a $50 test ride and thank goodness I can return it to Amazon which I decided to do within an hour. If you can borrow a horse bow with a light draw weight to get the experience, I'd recommend that. If you like it, then spend some money for a bow with beautiful aesthetics and better design and construction. I'm opting for a laminated AF Archery Takedown Tatar at $210 over a similar TopArchery for $100. From my own experience and from online reviews, I'm afraid the TopArchery products are underbuilt and might fail rather quickly.

Bow did not come assembled, when assembling the bow the two ends will not meet snugly in the middle leaving a several millimeter gap. the bow string was literally a piece of paracord and not even the correct length with loop knots at both ends with fraying.the hand grip zipper comes out almost two inches longer than the actual grip. I realize that this is a cheaper bow but I just wanted to be able to practice while waiting on my other bow to be made.
