Witches of Brooklyn: (A Graphic Novel)

I let my daughter pick out her own book haul recently and she picked up Witches of Brooklyn and has not stopped talking about it. She has read it to me several times. She colors her nails with markers to cover up her magic. I can't wait for her preorders to come in. Start the Littles reading young. It's amazing. We've had really amazing discussions about this book and she has wonderful empathy about what happens in the first 10 pages (which is probably needs the most explaining to younger audiences). Great book. Highly recommended!

This book was funny and cute. Effie’s mom dies and she is sent to live with her aunt who is old and seems more like a grandmother I love her character she is firstly and sweet she reminds me of my grams. It takes place in Brooklyn n.y and shortly after being there and adjusting to her new school and making friends she discovers her powers and her aunt welcomes her in on being a new witch and teaching her about her powers. Cute and funny characters aunts and the knight in the witch lab. Read this with my daughter and we loved it.

I bought two of these, one for my 12 year old granddaughter and one for my 11 year old mentee. I read it myself. We all loved it.. The characters are just adorable and the story is filled with humor, suspense and life lessons.

The story really warmed my heart! I really admire the unique artwork. I bought this as a gift for my 8 year old niece who is half Filipino and half Peruvian. In her town, there aren't a lot of people who look like her. So she really identified with Effie and her experience with being different. Looking forward to discovering more books by the talented author and illustrator, Sophie Escabasse.

I chose this book because it was a graphic novel. The book had a fun storyline but the font was hard for my dyslexic child to read. The font was pretty and had a “spooky” look to go along with the story. The letters had extra curly loops making it hard for my dyslexic child to recognize the letters and then match the sounds to it to read.

I got this for my 3rd and 4th grader nieces and they LOVED it - they read the whole thing on Christmas day and then talked about it a bunch. Great book.

The book is lovely and full of heart feeling. Even at starting raucous beginning you can't help loving the aunts and Effie.They are so funny and full of love, even Francis is great.Great art sure doesn't hurt.Can't wait for more!

My 4th grade son LOVED this book!

I bought this for my Great Niece for Christmas, as she loves to read. She devoured this book.
