How long does it last for in your dehydrated food jar before it needs changing

That's the problem with these silica sachets - you don't know when to change them. I found these to be very small and I used several per bag of dried product. Then I discovered the sachets where they have detector beads which change colour when the sachet needs changing. A little more expensive but much easier to use and they can also be re-charged for re-use

I have bought silica gel packs before, but, some have dust all over them. Will this be the same? I'm using for sensitive scientific equipment

I don't believe that these did come with any dust on them from what I remember. I would suggest buying 'food Grace's silica gel sachets though as they 100% won't have any dust/powder since that would taint the food item. Hope this helps

No they don't change colour when saturated.
