AccuMed Face Mask (Headband) (10 Count)

AccuMed's headband KN95 are my go to. I will definitely keep continuing to buy them for their qualities. There are, however, design features that could be improved.WHAT I LIKE...First, the particulate filtration test data is available on the AccuMed website, and it demonstrates that the material meets N95 filtration standards. With all of the fakes out there, It also gives me peace of mind that I can email a Houston-based company if I have questions. I have done so twice, and they are very responsive.I have a fuller face (Male/250 lbs/69 inches), and the mask is perfectly sized for me. Fits well underneath my chin. Allows me to speak and breathe heavy without collapsing.The headbands are ear savers. The nose bridge is NOT creased in the middle. These features offer greater comfort than other KN95 respirators I have tried.WHAT COULD BE BETTERLike with other KN95 masks I have tested, I fail to consistently get a seal that passes a qualitative fit test using an aerosolized saccharine solution. I suspect the reason for this is two-fold. That the headbands are too elastic, leading to insufficient tension even when I shorten them. Second the nose bridge is a very soft metal that too easily loses its form.CONCLUSIONSI like these masks because of the demonstrated filtration efficacy of the material, their large surface area, and the comfort of the headbands. To eliminate leakage and acheive the requisite seal, I use Bellus3D mask fitter when wearing this mask.

I am a teacher and have to wear a mask for a long school day. I have worn these masks all day for several days now. They are easier to breathe in than my various fabric masks. The headband is super comfortable. I have long hair, so I put the lower strap under my hair and leave the lower part of the mask around my neck all day. There are a few times when I am in my classroom alone and get a mask break. This mask has a smooth section under your chin and it sits well against my neck without removing the lower section. These masks from this company were recommended by a fellow teacher who had done a quite a bit of research. I’m following the advice he found, which says to number the 10 masks. Then wear one each day in order. The masks should sit 4 days before you wear it again. They are sold as single use, but my friend found information saying spreading out when you wear them can extend the use of the mask. The rubber that goes around the head and neck is very strong but comfortable. I have sensitive skin & have not had a problem with it. I have stretched it out very far & even gotten it stuck on my glasses; but it has not broken. My N95 mask strap broke with similar use. If you are looking for a mask that will actually protect you that is both comfortable to wear and easy to breathe through, order this mask.

We have ordered FIVE different kinds of KN95 masks since our one & only unused N95 filtered mask (that we had laying around from the golden days of the pre-pandemic) finally wore out after about 80 hours of use. We also have two different kinds of multi-layer fabric buckle-strap masks that work pretty well. But these are BY FAR the best quality KN95 masks that we have found. It’s made of 6 layers of alternating non-woven & melt-blown materials that has been shown to actually filter out harmful air at a comparable level (~95% filtration at <0.3 microns). It has a very comfortably, strong and sturdy elastic DOUBLE headband feature that stretches extremely well and fits snugly wherever you prefer to rest each elastic band. The form-fitting metal nose frame is also great, and causes zero discomfort, while providing a secure and safe fit to anyone. They are very easy to breathe with, especially compared to the extra-heavy-duty fabric models — and they actually work - unlike other cheap “KN95” or “surgical-style” versions with questionable materials, design & effectiveness. Just a heads up: No highly effective mask uses solely two ear loops and nothing else. I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for a high quality alternative to a genuine N95, which are nearly impossible to find since they are reserved for frontline workers. We have even handed out a few of these to family members and they have been thrilled with them and stopped using their old masks. The product comes in a resealable bag - and each mask inside comes with a resealable sleeve-pouch too - just fold them in half and stick them back in its sleeve to keep them clean and protected between uses. Definitely deserves an A+ as for as KN95 models go. These are the best.
