The Truth About Witchcraft (Llewellyn's New-age)

I bought this for my daughter as she is showing an interest. I read it first as a refresher. It is ok. I like the beginning where is tells more about what the religion is about. After the first couple chapters though it gets into more details that are more about how to practice. Overall good starter book but if you have any experience at all this book isn't for you.

Easy to comprehend and very interesting! Lots of history and basics for anyone doing research, but not boring at all! Definitely a good mixture of story-telling/analogies and facts.

The Truth about Witchcraft Today! Is a complete work genius! When I went to study Wicca and learn more then I had on my own. This is the book I was given to read First. And I can see why,. It is a composit of layman's terms into the craft. It gives you a few spells to try and explains the reasons why some spells work and some do not! The ideas behind Wicca and some of the Pitfalls...Scott Cunningham was a excellent writer and we in the Wiccan community miss him greatly. This book is the forerunner to many other authors that give the Common Man a look see into Witchcraft and I recommend this to anyone that is interested in the Craft of the Wise!

I wanted to love this book. Cunningham's books were the most recommended books hands down. I was so excited when it came. I wanted to feel instantly connected to this book. I didn't. I purchased this book along with a couple others because I wanted to immerse myself in Wicca and learn everything that I could about it. I would pick up this book, and get through a couple pages and put it down. I just couldn't connect with his writing style. This book is full of great information, but I was able to pull it out of other books more easily in a way that worked for me. This is a great book for beginners and is a great starting point for someone who doesn't know where to start.

The best book about witchcraft that can be given to anyone. It used to be a pamphlet before growing in size to that of this book. And it really is the most informative book you could ever find on the subject without sounding elitist, condescending or trying to justify something. This is what got me started and where I spent my time for 15 years. A very real part of my journey. Highly recommended.

I buy dozens of these inexpensive and priceless books each year and give them away. What a great way to break down the barriers surrounding Witchcraft in a way that's reassuring and non-threatening. Scott Cunningham disspells the misconceptions and flat-out lies! He was one of our best spokesmen and I thank him every day for this gift. For those who aren't witches but live near/with one and want to better understand - - - you simply can't do better.

Great little book, cannot go wrong wrong with this book, exactly what the book says, a great great for any new witches who want to read to on the history or anybody interested in witchcraft history. Another good book by Scott Cunningham, one of my favourite authors

Mixed feelings. If this is truly the path you wish to follow, then study and keep on studying to become a true Pagan.

This is a good book to give to friends and family who might be concerned by your new found interest in witchcraft as it will put their mind at ease. I don't feel I learned very much from it, and it does seem to labour the point "we don't worship the devil" a bit.
